"2nd year at the house and what a great time!! Boat, Kayaks Canoes game room private beach with fire pit....SO much to do. The caretaker will take care of any issue you have immediately. Area has Golf,White water rafting and 1000 islands is a great place for a day trip,But if you do Charter fishing DO NOT USE 1000 Islands Charters !!! Owner is nasty and will not accommodate you ..Trust me!!"

"My husband and I came to Old Forge for our first time, along with our four children (ages 3-9), for a snowmobile weekend. Barb and Doug met us at the house upon arrival and my first impression of anything is that these folks are two of the kindest, most accommodating and helpful people I've ever met; the kind of people you would love to have in your own family. As for the home - I fell in love immediately. Its so beautiful and so charming, so many lovely details that you only find in a home this age. There is nothing 'modern' about the architecture or style, which is precisely the appeal. You feel like you're back in time, from the beautiful wallpaper to the gorgeous wood trim and details; the glass and brass doorknobs, the hard word flooring and beautiful wood built-ins. People who own homes like this tend to live in them, preserve them, and rarely share their beauty. Barb and Doug open their home to guests lucky enough to find the time to visit. Our children loved the home and were enamored with endless 'hide-n-seek' possibilities; none of us wanted to leave... so the day after we arrived home we booked another weekend! One last comment, and I've read several of the same - the house is SPOTLESS. I mean to say, I walked around in light blue and white socks for 4 days and there was not a hint of dirt on any of my socks - MY SOCKS!!! I don't even know how that's possible! So if you're looking for cleanliness, comfort, charm... a place where you KNOW you want to go back to as soon as you can... THIS is your place! Thank you Doug and Barb, it was a pleasure and we look forward to staying in your beautiful home again!"

"2 families stayed here last week for the Lake Placid Lacrosse Tournament and had a fantastic time. We did not have one complaint! The beds were comfortable and plentiful. Condo is close to Main Street and gave us easy access to the lax fields. The condo was very clean with a great black bear coffee table! We will definitely be back next year! Thank you Laura and Bob for sharing your home with us~"

"We loved staying at the Chalet. It was close to so many hiking trails and a quick ride to downtown. The house is very roomy and charming. It was well stocked with bedding, towels, and kitchen supplies. We loved the gas fireplace on the cool nights and all the comfortable beds. We will definitely choose this stay again if we come back to the area. It was great that our dog was welcome and it made a real difference to our vacation."
