"My friends and I rented this place for our 3 days 2 night getaway. We had 10 adults with us and it was more than enough space. The house was pretty well maintained and clean. The fire pit in the backyard was awesome. We had a bbq on the day we arrived and everyone just sat in front of the fire pit making smores afterward. The living room had plenty of board games/books and a decent size tv with cable. The one thing we had an issue with was the hot water, we kept running out of hot water. If you do travel with a big group, don't shower one after another! you'll run out of hot water really fast! overall my group and I enjoyed our stay at Dan's house. The whole transaction with Dan went very smooth. Definitely recommend this place."

"Our family with 2 elementary age children and our in-laws stayed for a week in July. The lake was great and the kids had a ball every day playing with the pebbles and splashing around. We cooked and ate outside most days. The rooms were very clean and my in-laws appreciated the 1st floor bedroom with AC as they have trouble with stairs. All supplies were available and in ready quantities. We were expecting only a few kitchen implements, but there were plenty of gadgets, utensils, and different size pots to use.
After a wicked thunderstorm, the power and internet was knocked out. The owners were very responsive and reported the outage and we got back online. I am glad they listened to our concerns and were proactive.
The cottage is a short drive from many tourist attractions so we took day trips to the North Pole, Vermont, and Ft. Ticonderoga.
I highly recommend Jack's Rock and would stay here again in the future."

"We absolutely loved our stay here! We stayed with two other families, and the house fit all of us comfortably. The owners have several kayaks and life vests to borrow and the location great to leave from. The road is very quiet and secluded, but only few minutes from downtown, which is quaint and adorable. The owners were very helpful and kind to us before, during, and after our stay. We would definitely return here!"

"What sets Healing Wood apart from other vacation rentals is the attention to detail of the furnishings, décor and setting. The house retains the charm of a bygone era, from the kitchen's cast iron stove to the porcelain wash basins. (There are fully modern appliances, so don't worry about building a fire to heat up the tea kettle!) The well stocked library will keep inquisitive minds occupied for days, all while reading in the warmth of the late afternoon sun streaming through the French doors. It's like walking back in time to your grandparent's home.
The home is located a short walk from Upper Saranac lake and within easy drive of the villages of Tupper, Saranac and Placid. Recommend the boat tour on Placid to see the grand camps, including Kate Smith's camp. The Wild Center is a gem in nearby Tupper and aviation buffs can arrange flights out of Adirondack Regional (KSLK) to see the high peaks from up on higher! Hiking the Ampersand trail to the summit provided a view that was worth every rock and foot of elevation gain along the way.
A memorable vacation in a special home, we hope to return again to Healing Wood."
