  • Relaxing Home Away from Home

"I spent a ski weekend with two teenagers, and we all had a wonderful time. This townhouse is warm, inviting, and very clean. It was also very quiet during our stay at the end of February. The kitchen is fully equipped, and Gore Mountain is just minutes away. Bob is an excellent owner and his concern for comfort is unmatched. We'll definitely return!"

  • Quintessential Lake Placid Home in Heart of Town

"I booked this home for a birthday-bachelorette weekend with 6 girlfriends this February and we were all blown away by this immaculate, spectacular, beautiful home. Each room is outfitted with a giant bathroom, the kitchen is outfitted with everything you would need to make a meal, the living room is cozy and features a spectacular view of the town, Mirror Lake and main street. The one-minute walk to town to experience the wonderful bars, shops, restaurants and activies that line the main street could not have been easier. And Madeleine, the owner, was, at all times, incredibly friendly, always fair, super quick to respond, answer all questions, and straightforward. It was one of the best weekend getaways of all time and I would recommend Madeleine and this house to everyone looking to make the trip to Lake Placid. I will definitely be booking here again! It's a very special place! Katie B."

  • Spring Skiing Getaway - Perfect Location / Cozy and Comfortable

"My wife and our two boys (9 and 5) made a late-season long Easter weekend trip to Lake Placid (our first) and Delina's Grand View Escape apartment was the perfect home base for our weekend. The house is on a quiet neighborhood street just seconds away by car and minutes away by (hilly) walk to downtown Lake Placid. The home has essentially everything you need and is truly turnkey. Every detail has been thought through, and immediately impressed with the accommodations, floor to ceiling. Both bedrooms are quiet and comfortable, with excellent bedding and mattresses in each room. Our younger boy had an adventure and slept on the pullout couch which also seemed on the newer side. As an Ironman in training, it made me smile to think about the "M-dot" magnet on the fridge and the "Swim Bike Run" ceramic coaster on the ottoman. In fact, if and when I ever register for IMLP (didn't get in this year so we're heading to IMMT, but that's another story), this would be the first place I would look for (me and a lot of others, my guess...). There is a home upstairs and I think Delina lives there, although our paths didn't cross while we were in town (very quiet if she was!). That being said, she was more than accessible if needed (and as I said the home had everything, so we didn't need much!). A book that was provided explained a number of local attractions, and in fact we found it to be spot-on for a few of the restaurants recommended. Grand View Escapes is a short, scenic drive to Whiteface, where we spent 3 full days over the weekend. I also was able to head out for a nice morning run around Mirror Lake - door to door it's about 3 miles round trip. For our budget and our needs, this really could not have gone any better and if available we will definitely be back. We made memories! Thanks so much Delina and Grand View Escapes."

  • Beautiful Lake Front House

"This is a warm, friendly house with a great open floor plan. The upstairs bedroom has awesome bunk beds for the kids and the downstairs bed rooms are clean and comfortable. A highlight is the large central fireplace that we used every night. The house is removed from the main road (route 9) by a long, narrow driveway, giving it a real secluded feel. A small grassy backyard leads to the beach which has nice, deep sand, great for kids (and adults). Lots of beach/water toys, all the buckets, shovels, and assorted sand gear. The water is clear and shallow, mostly sandy/muddy and good for swimming. Other than getting a bit shallow it's a great spot to pull up boats and park at the dock or on the beach. Huge screened in porch and the outdoor shower is awesome. I took most of my showers out there. The kitchen is mostly new and decently appointed, though there is very little in the way of glassware (only 2 actual glasses in whole house - the rest is various kinds of plastic), but everything you need for general family food and drink. The owners are cool people, accessible and responsive, and overall I would highly recommend this place. We would like to come back again."
