  • Family Vacation in the Mountains

"We've rent three other places in ADK but this is the BEST and we WILL return. The home is comfortable, gorgeous, is equipped with everything you can want. The views are classic ADK views and to be able to sit on the porch and stare at Whiteface was calming and brought a sense of serenity and balance. We have been slowly introducing our grandkids to the ADK experience and this was our third year. Only 3 of our grandkids were able to make it (ages 8, 7 and 5). This was their first High Peaks experience and two of them climbed Whiteface Mt. with five adults. The boys drove down the mountain. We also climbed Ampersand Mt. in the rain and 2.5 baths were a welcome chance to clean up quickly and be on to the next experience…often time sitting around the campfire and enjoying the absolute quiet. You feel isolated on Hardy Road but realize the beach, kayaking, the animal rescue, fishing and the little grocery store (for the incidentals you forgot) are all close by. We did a paddle on Lake Everett and it was a fabulous flat water paddle and the rentals were reasonable. The bike trails are close by for mountain biking or early morning walks. Lots of room for kids to run, more than adequate parking, plenty of hot water, fully equipped kitchen. We are not sightseers but there's plenty of that too. Our favorite restaurant, the ADK in Keene isn't far away. I would HIGHLY recommend this place and owners and housekeeper were very easy to work with."

  • Cozy and quiet, great location

"We stayed at Little Peak for a week, our first visit to the Adirondacks, with our primary purpose of hiking and exploring the outdoors. The cabin was cozy and perfect for the two of us. The kitchen was very well-stocked with pots/pans/dishware/knives/utensils, etc., which was exactly what we were looking for as we cooked in more often than we ate out. The front porch/patio was great for eating meals outside. It has great access to Lake Placid, Whiteface Mountain, and the high peaks region. The only drawbacks were: no washer/dryer unit, given our length of stay and how dirty we were from hiking; the hot water heater is pretty small so we had to wait 1/2 hour between our showers (which were short) to have enough for both of us; and the spiral staircase takes some dexterity, so anyone who has difficulty with stairs might have trouble with it. Overall, Little Peak was a great fit for our needs and we would love to stay here again if traveling to the area in the future."

  • Beautiful Cabin and surroundings

"We loved the cabin. It is bigger than our house! Our kids (15 and 13) loved the game room. So many things to see nearby (Gondola ride at Whiteface Mt.; High Falls Gorge, The Wild Center, Scenic Railroad; many hiking trails, etc.)"

  • Picture does not this home justice!!

"Our family rented this house as 'home base' for our son's wedding in Lake Placid. We hosted the groomsmen & our young adult children --10 in all --- and were SO happy with this choice! The house is LOVELY and perfectly set up for entertaining. We had a choice of propane or charcoal grills, a 4-person hot tub, the sauna, a WONDERFUL fire circle, a game room, a sweet, meandering path down to Beaver Creek, acres of lawn space, an outstanding private master suite for me & hubby (complete with jacuzzi tub), miles of dirt road for running or walking -- it was just perfect! There are internet and TV, but no need to use either with so many other amenities! The one thing that was not mentioned in the description, and the reason we are seriously interested in returning, is a BUILT IN dog kennel & run!! We are VERY excited about returning to this house with our Goldens---they will love it! My son's friend summed it up perfectly when she first entered the house -- she dropped her duffle bag and said "WOW" and, with each turn she made, she repeated"WOW" -- we agree."
