  • Great Vacation 2014

"We had a wonderful week, starting with watching the final game of the World Cup and ending with an evening of kayaking and canoeing on Eagle Lake. We swam just about every day, hiked up 2 mountains (one hard, one easy), took out the canoe and the kayaks several times, used the bbq, played games in the evening at the long table, and croquet between adventures during the day. Everyone loved the week here - 3 boys, all teens (well, one 20-yr-old), my husband and me too. Early mornings were quiet - just us sipping coffee, reading by the windows and sometimes hearing the loon. Nights were peaceful and falling asleep to the sound of the loon, an owl and the breeze in the trees was very relaxing and we wished it could have been 2 weeks. There is plenty to do, but you have to drive a bit - always worth it. The Adirondack Museum was just over an hour (but great), hikes everywhere, a day over to Vermont well worth it, and so much to do we could not get to. No wifi for these otherwise addicts, and no complaints all week. Hope to make it back. It was lovely, the house was very clean, very comfortable, very well-outfitted and very private. The owner checked in to see if all was going well (via phone). Highly recommend this place!"

  • Perfect description of the house. Privacy from the bustle of Main St, yet only a two minut walk away

"I was very happy with the accommodations. Not only was the house beautiful, but the responsiveness of the owner and the overseer was great. We had one issue when we arrived; the BBQ grill wasn't getting hot enough to cook meat. It wasn't a big deal because there is a big oven and range in the kitchen. We called the overseer that night, and he fixed it so that we were able to grill the next day. It was our first family trip in 24 years, and it was perfect. We've already discussed renting the same house to come back next year."

  • Grateful traveler

"We rented this property to bring our family together for the Thanksgiving holiday. We could not have asked for a more perfect place to be. The photos while stunning cannot portray how amazing this house truly is. It had everything we could possibly need or want and John (the owner) could not have been more pleasant and accommodating to deal with. The house was impeccably clean and decorated in a true Victorian manner. Each of the bedrooms had a distinctive decorating style. I kept walking through the house saying, "I can't believe that I am actually staying in a house like this!" The huge gas fireplace in the main sitting room was a cozy gathering space for our family to sit and talk or to play games. The pool table was a huge hit with all of us. The housekeeper was pleasant and very welcoming to us when we arrived. I would recommend this property to anyone. We had fun shopping in the nearby Lake George outlets and also a cute restaurant/gift shop called the Silo. Although we didn't rent this property for a wedding, the grounds are absolutely beautiful (even in late November) and cannot imagine how stunning it would be in the spring and summer months. We hope that we can come back sometime in the summer to enjoy the outdoor gardens, sitting areas and the pool. I also wanted to mention that we had a toddler with us and she had a ball toddling through the house from room to room visiting with everyone. Highly recommend! Outstanding property."

  • Family Reunion Fun

"Our family of three generations loved our stay at Huttlinger House. The house was clean, with comfy beds and plenty of clean towels. There were four bedrooms and two full baths in the second floor, and a third full bath on the first floor. Two of our party also spread out into the cozy bedrooms on the third floor. We enjoyed making breakfast in the fully equipped kitchen and eating together in the dining room. We enjoyed evenings in the large living/sitting room. It was an easy walk into town for dinner and shopping in the quaint stores and outlets. We loved that the house is still owned by the children who grew up here; the house is built upon many happy memories. We would definitely recommend Huttlinger House to our friends!"
