  • A wondeful and restful hiking holiday in the Adirondacks!

"I can't thank you enough for the lovely cozy cottage you keep! As I mentioned, every area was fully equipped with everything we would need! The bathroom was clean with comfy towels and even some extra toiletries! The hot water tank was not a problem at all. We made sure to space out our showers and the dish washing! The bedroom was also very restful. The ceiling fan and the two windows to the side and back yard were perfect to circulate the air at night! It was a restful place to rest (even with our 5 year old sharing the bed and our puppy on the floor! We really appreciated the long dresser to put all our stuff on too! The kitchen was also very well equipped! There was lots of space in the fridge. We had 2 breakfast, 2 dinners and 1 lunch and lacked for nothing at all! I even forgot to pack extra zip lock bags and Tupperware and was pleasantly surprised when I saw some in the kitchen! By the way, I've never seen such a clean convection toaster oven! Very handy to cook our meals with! The living room and dinning room were also well stocked! As soon as we entered we noticed the very useful hand drawn map you left for us on the table. It was good to know where we were with relation to the farmer's market, the park, the ADK café, etc. We also browsed through the very useful books and pamphlets you have in the living room. We appreciated having the cable for our 5 year old son to be entertained with PBS kids and other children channels while we unpacked or prepared meals. The cottage is within walking distance of great markets, cafes, local shops, ice cream shops, river walks, etc. It was an extremely convenient location for us. Our only regret is that the weather was too wet (and we were too tired) to borrow your nice fire pit in the back because my son really wanted to have roasted marshmallows and smores. Thank you Dorothy and we look forward to our next visit!"

  • Simply The Best

"We stayed at the Blue House for a week at the end of August 2014. The location was superb, the lake gorgeous, and the house wonderful. It was very spacious, well-equipped, surrounded by trees, flowers and a stream. We enjoyed coffee by the lake every morning, either in the screened gazebo or on the chairs by the beach. We hiked, kayaked, canoed, and fished. We drove into North Creek and had lunch at Sarah's Cafe, and twice ate at BarVino - which has the best selection of beer and wine I have ever seen. We met the owners, who were gracious, friendly and happy to assist in whatever way they could to make our stay comfortable. We will be back!"

  • Snowbird Vacation

"Wonderfully quiet, remote and secluded; kitchen and linen amenities excellent. Fantastic fireplace with plenty of fire wood. Washer and dryer a wonderful plus! Rustic in all ways. When you picture a cabin in the woods. this is it! Great for hiking, 20 minutes to town. Furniture not most comfortable for long term rental (3 months). Could use more lighting for reading. Internet access, no TV, but not a problem for us. Jimmy, the caretaker is great."

  • Enjoyed our experience So Much...we headed Back!

"Thank you to Tim for helping us to experience The Whiteface Lodge and Lake Placid. The resort went above our expectations in terms of the amount of space we had for our family of 5, cleanliness, friendliness of staff and ambiance. There was so much for us to do at the resort (the pool, game room, resort's private beach, cookies at tea time) and within the area of Lake Placid (hiking, boat tours, Olympic museum, watching the ski jumpers and ice skaters, & horse show). The concierge was very helpful in helping us pick out hikes to go on with our children, or alone as a couple when we utilized the Kids camp. We enjoyed our experience so much in June that we headed back in August! It was so easy to work with Tim and we are so glad that our friend who has stayed at the resort numerous times recommended Tim and the resort."
