  • Lovely property

"We stayed here while the rest of the family camped just 6 miles away at Mongaup Pond. Impeccably clean and perfect for our needs."

  • Nice place, great location

"We stayed for a 4 day weekend and as others have reviewed the place is much roomier than you would first expect. Plenty of parking and just off the main drag in Hunter. Easy walk to the mountain and downtown restaurants/bars. Had a great time and the one issue we had, the owner was prompt in responding."

  • Tranquility and peaceful stay

"My husband and I stayed during the Columbus day wkend along with our 2 greyhounds. The house was spacious, clean, and cozy with all the needed amenities. And the linens were clean and fresh, which makes a huge difference. The cottage is quite secluded and further up the driveway from Boris's house. It's basically perched up the mountainside and surrounded by woods so you can't see any cars passing. They have an electric fireplace that turns on quickly if it gets chilly at night. And the hot tub was a nice touch for star gazing with a glass of wine. We went to Hunter Mtn's Oktoberfest (45 min) and to Woodstock (<10 min) with a side trip hiking on Overlook Mtn. We cooked in one nite but ate at the Bear's Café another (as per Boris's suggestion) which was great. My husband had such a great time he wants a cottage just like this one of his own. Thanks for a great stay."

  • Unbelievably big house with something for everyone.

"We just returned from a weekend at the "mansion." We were a group of 27 family members three generations (15 grandkids ages 5-25). Everyone had a great time. The game room was wonderful and we actually ended up dancing under the disco ball on the dance floor. The indoor pool was a huge plus, and all the kids had a blast. The reasons I'm not giving it 5 stars are: there's no central air, and only 4 of the 16 bedrooms have air conditioning; none of the bathrooms upstairs had any towel racks or hooks to hang your towels on; The oversized deck only had one table to seat 6 (and it was rusty) and the deck chairs are those old chalky white plastic ones; there is absolutely no artwork (or photos) of any kind on any wall in the house and the bedrooms didn't have any nightstands or lamps. It really shouldn't be described as a mansion because it isn't. It's just a GIGANTIC house."
