  • Great rental

"Our family, husband, wife and 2 grown childeren stayed here for a birthday ski week-end. We were very pleased with the house, large, clean and it was 5 minutes to ski Windam. We cooked most of our meals here and had everything we needed. There's a deck off the back which overlooks a nice yard with a view of the ski sloops in the background. It was a great fit for our family with room to spare."

  • Wonderful long weekend getaway

"My wife, myself, our 8-year-old daughter and another couple stayed at the farmhouse for a long weekend in early November. We had a great time and felt right at home in the cottage, on the grounds and throughout the surrounding area. We had some cold weather the first night and the hillsides were dusted with snow, which gave everything an early-winter feel. We cranked up the wood-fired cookstove in the kitchen and it filled the house with that warmth that only cast iron can provide (there's also a regular furnace and thermostats to heat the place). The house was clean, neat and comfortable. The kitchen is well appointed with cookware, utensils, dishes, etc. On the first morning, our host gave our little girl a quick tour of the henhouse on the working farm, which she thoroughly enjoyed. After breakfast that included some of the farm-fresh eggs, we took a long walk on the rail trial right out back. It passes through quiet old farm country bounded by the wooded hillsides of the northern Catskills. We spent many hours in Hobart's bookstores right up the road, there are seven of them by my count and the town is a mecca for anyone who loves reading. We toured some of the country roads and stopped in to some antique shops, farmstands and sampled some other local spots. We hope to return in the spring with our bikes to ride a longer section of the rail trail. Also, I'd like to bring my flyrod to fish the West Branch of the Delaware, a stone's throw from the farm. In all we had a great time and I would highly recommend the farmhouse to anyone seeking a quiet getaway. -rjj"

  • Relaxing stay

"My wife, mother in law and 7 month old daughter stayed at the property in mid June and had a wonderful stay. The house is an easy drive from NYC and is well appointed with everything you could need for your stay. The three bedrooms are nice sized with a nice master bath. The bonus room off of the top deck was fantastic and we found ourselves spending a significant amount of time in here with the baby when the sun got too strong. Thursday and Friday of our stay the lake was very quiet making for a extremely peaceful visit, things got quite busy on Saturday and Sunday which is to be expected during the summer months. Overall great get away at a nice property."

  • Magical

"My boyfriend and I were looking to get away from the noise and stressful life of the city. Lo and behold, we were able to find the perfect place. Mirav's cottage is to die for. The perfect word to describe this place is "magical". It's secluded and peaceful. We never saw a single soul the entire time we were there. The fireplace and jacuzzi were extraordinary. You can tell that Mirav put a lot of time and effort into making this home spectacular, and she definitely achieved that. My boyfriend is a wonderful cook, so the kitchen was one of the highlights for him. It was very spacious and light seeps through the skylights above making it the perfect atmosphere to cook. For entertainment, there are games, puzzles, bose sound system, Vizio LCD as well, so if you have a Netflix account you can cuddle up on the couch and watch whatever you want. There's also a beautiful patio where you can lay down and get a tan (it was raining so we couldn't do that). Another highlight was Mirav's super grill. You can make some incredible burgers on that thing! The 3 days we were there felt like heaven and really felt like home as well. I caught myself calling it "home" when we went out to dinner at the nearby Red Onion. Your in touch with nature, and you really forget how peaceful life can be when you don't have to deal with the stresses of the city. If you want to get away from it all, this is the perfect place. Thanks Mirav!"
