"My boyfriend and I were looking to get away from the noise and stressful life of the city. Lo and behold, we were able to find the perfect place. Mirav's cottage is to die for. The perfect word to describe this place is "magical". It's secluded and peaceful. We never saw a single soul the entire time we were there. The fireplace and jacuzzi were extraordinary. You can tell that Mirav put a lot of time and effort into making this home spectacular, and she definitely achieved that. My boyfriend is a wonderful cook, so the kitchen was one of the highlights for him. It was very spacious and light seeps through the skylights above making it the perfect atmosphere to cook. For entertainment, there are games, puzzles, bose sound system, Vizio LCD as well, so if you have a Netflix account you can cuddle up on the couch and watch whatever you want. There's also a beautiful patio where you can lay down and get a tan (it was raining so we couldn't do that). Another highlight was Mirav's super grill. You can make some incredible burgers on that thing! The 3 days we were there felt like heaven and really felt like home as well. I caught myself calling it "home" when we went out to dinner at the nearby Red Onion. Your in touch with nature, and you really forget how peaceful life can be when you don't have to deal with the stresses of the city. If you want to get away from it all, this is the perfect place.

"Our group of 10 friends stayed for a weekend at the Windham Chalet and we have a wonderful time. There was more than enough room for everybody - we could have fit several more people, in fact - and it was nice having so many bathrooms. Everything was clean and well-maintained. There's ample space in the living room and dining room. The kitchen was great - perfect for cooking large group meals (we often congregated in there to chat and snack). There could be a few more kitchen utensils/amenities, but we mostly found everything we needed. The hot tub was FABULOUS.
The location cannot be beat. It's right at the base of the mountain. The shuttle picks up from a parking lot next door, but the skiers in our group simply walked across the street.
The only slight downside was that we could never figure out how to connect to the wifi. But Fabio was always quick to respond to any questions that we had."

"We stayed here mid March to access Hunter Mountain with a group of 8 people. The home is located on a VERY secluded road- basically off the beaten path! The guys were able to play football right in the street & I think we only saw 1 car pass by over the whole weekend. Very isolated- which is what we wanted. Close drive to Hunter- about 10 minutes! Home was clean & well equipped. Bathroom was very large & updated. Rooms were spacious enough & there was also a fold out couch in the living room. Open plan upstairs, which was good for a group of 8. Large covered grill was right outside the kitchen for convenience. The jacuzzi was clean & a nice touch after a long day of snowboarding. Yard was big but we didn't get much use because it was snow covered. The downstairs entertainment area was a really nice add on! We spent a lot of time playing pool, ping-pong, and foosball. The washer and dryer looked newer (also downstairs) but we didn't use it since we only stayed for 2 nights. The owner was very prompt with communication and was available for any questions we might have. House is also equipped with wifi, which was great for playing our own music on our Beats Box. :)"

"Three years ago, my husband and I decided to look for an upstate summer getaway (we live and work in NYC). We looked at a few places, but knew immediately that we felt good about this place. It is cozy while having an open lay-out. It has everything you would need - enough space for guests should they come, a good kitchen, washer/dryer, and entertainment. Best of all, really, is that it's across the street from a motorless lake.
We've been back since - 4th of July weekend in 2012, a full month last August.
We first rented Amber Lake as a couple -- and have been happy to introduce our toddler to Amber Lake and the Catskills. (He loved it -- and calls the place "wa-wa" for the water/lake). It's cool and quiet without being remote - Livingston Manor has a cute little town with a great bakery, market, and diner.
My husband fishes at the lake, we walk go for walks, barbeque on the porch... our time here has been memorable and truly part of our family's story.
Communicating with the owners has been easy via phone or email, and we've had no issues in all the times we've stayed there.
Highly recommend (even though, as I write this, I fear that we will find Amber Lake unavailable for the next time we want to visit!)"
