  • Best Catskills Vacation Ever

"We spent the last two weeks of August at the farmhouse in Bovina. We've rented other properties in the Catskills, but this is the first one that not only lived up to our expectations, but exceeded them. The property itself is enormous (well over 100 acres), gorgeous, and beautifully maintained. It was a pleasure to simply sit on the front porch and drink of cup of coffee or a glass of wine. My husband and dog would hike up to the top of the hill behind the house every morning and take in the amazing view. We swam in the pond, played lots of dog Frisbee on the grass, and went for long runs on the Catskill scenic trail nearby. The kitchen was well equipped and spacious. There was a nice Weber grill outside. And we made dinners many nights from produce purchased at local farm stands and farmers' markets and vegetables and herbs straight from the garden. If we didn't feel like cooking, we could drive to the nice little restaurant in Bovina Center, or get Friday night pizza in Bloomville, or just grab a burger and a beer in Andes. Our two weeks in Bovina were supremely idyllic and we were sorry that we had to return to the city."

  • Truly Relaxing!

"When my fiancé and I first walked into the Blue Pearl we were in awe. Much bigger then we anticipated, we walked around taking in the sun shining from the skylights throughout the living room space and bedroom. (There is a shade for the skylight in the bedroom for those sensitive to sunlight in the AM). The kitchen was very cute and well equipped with anything you may need for a nice meal. It was nice to have different types of tea provided if you were in the mood for a cup on a cozy night or first thing in the morning. The bathroom has great hot water and the basic essentials you may need with fresh towels. We loved the small fireplace that was put in the cottage for ambience. There is good heating and AC in the cottage. Cd's and a small radio, chess, checkers and cards, books are provided for your down time. This place was very clean and the decor was like no other... It was a bit nippy outside for this time of year so we decided not to sit out front in the garden but we would love to when we come back! There are lots of shops near by which we loved and had a great time buying a few things. The people in the small town near by are very friendly. The restaurants near by have good food. A lot of organic ingredients which is always a plus for me! Overall we had a very relaxing stay and would love to revisit!"

  • Couldn't have been a more perfect weekend!

"I really cannot recommend this home or this renter highly enough. Our group was a party of 9 late 20's/early 30's New York professionals (and their dogs) looking to get the heck out of the city for the weekend. Kevin was always quick with responses and was super helpful with suggestions on what to do in the area, which we ended up not even checking out this time because the house and surrounding trails were just too awesome and there wasn't enough time in the day! The kitchen was well stocked with cookware and dishes and in cooking 4 large meals for 9 people, we never were short a utensil or cookware item, which I can tell you is a masterpiece all of its own in a rental home. The pool table (the main selling point of the house for our group) was a beautiful table and the pool cues were actually very nice pool cues, which is always awesome to stumble upon unexpectedly. The putting green also added some unexpected fun for the guys in our group, and surprisingly the dart board wasn't used, but it was there, too! The non-pool players in our group had fun with a puzzle of a New York City terrace that's missing one piece (you'll see what I mean) and a camp fire on Saturday night with smores was really the icing on the cake. Actually, no, the icing on the cake was the stunning fall foliage because that was absolutely fantastic. But that was completely circumstantial so the credit can't all go to Kevin :) We look forward to returning to this wonderful home in the future, and if you're thinking about renting it, go for it. You won't be disappointed. Thanks so much again for the great weekend, Kevin!!"
