  • Lovely Relaxing Country Farmhouse

"Christmas, with views of farms and rolling hills. We didn't get snow, but everything else was perfect. We read books and cooked and enjoyed our time together. Everything was closed for a few days, and that was fine with us. The farmhouse, now painted a pretty shade of green, was perfect. Rooms are close to each other, except the upstairs, so we were always together instead of spread out throughout the house. The bed, with a memory foam mattress, is extremely comfortable. Cooking in the kitchen was comfortable. Although the warm temperatures prevented the use of the 1926 stove, it was a beauty to look at. The home is very clean and well maintained. We met Barbara, Scott and Eleanor and knew they were there for us if we had any questions. The fresh eggs were a delight. This was an odd time of year to visit local shops as many were closed. We did drive to Oneonta and eat at Brook's Barbecue, a busy crowded restaurant. We arrived with big appetites and found the food good. The bookstores in Hobart were fantastic and we spent hours browsing the collections. Thank you Barbara, Scott and Eleanor for such a wonderful visit!"

  • Comfortable cabin in the woods

"Cabin 1 was really great for a weekend away. The area was secluded, but still could see neighboring houses. It really felt like the kind of place that was exciting but comfortable. Every morning there were huge pileated woodpeckers we could see out the windows or while relaxing in the hot tub. So cool. The house is Very clean and bright. The fireplace was ready for us and we brought in 3 bags of wood from the local Stewart's for a comfy fire. The kitchen had pots, pans, utensils, coffeemaker, microwave... Everything we needed for the groceries we brought in and it was a quick drive into town for some shopping and people watching. I can't wait to try out the other cabins on future visits."

  • Top Notch Experience

"The perfect spot for a girls / mamas weekend away. The house is lovingly taken care of. Sitting by the wood stove, drinking wine with your friends, what a treat. We didn't want to leave."

  • Excellent getaway, we will be back to enjoy as soon as we cam

"We also had a great time at this perfectly situated cabin where we spent several days cooking, hiking, bbqing, reading and of course relaxing. Of the four of us, plus pup, we each had a different favorite part, from the fully-equipped kitchen for cooking and baking (me), to the deck and bbq (all of us), the leather seat for reading (the readers in the group), to the beautiful field that sits in back of property (the pup and explorers), we all spread out and reconvened daily. Paul, the owner, was also responsive and provided great information on the cabin and the surrounding areas so you will be well taken care of. Can't wait to go back!"
