  • Fantastic summer vacation

"We had a fantastic weeks vacation and highly recommend this rental house. The property is very secluded but easily accessible. The house was clean and comfortable, with everything you would need(except food of course), huge windows and a porch allow for a beautiful view of the side of the mountain and wildlife. A back patio provided shade on sunny days, in the front is a great fire pit for roasting s'mores which we did almost every night! The first floor(finished basement) stayed cool on warm days/nights and was our son's and dog's favorite place to sleep. Each floor has it's own bathroom. We enjoyed our hikes through acres of forest on logging roads, and watching the World Cup in the comfortable living room. The absolute best thing was swimming in the spring fed pond with our retriever! The water was clean and cool and only a few minutes walk from the house. There is a great Italian restaurant in Roscoe(about 10 minutes away) and a farmers market every Sunday morning. We enjoyed meeting the owners of the rental who are lovely people. A great place to relax, read a book, and enjoy nature!"

  • Great place to spread out and enjoy quiet

"Enjoyed a wonderful summer weekend with friends here at the house, which served as a great jumping off point for rafting on the Delaware river and going to the Bethel arts center. The back patio, grill, and huge yard were particularly great for kicking back on a nice summer evening with no one else in sight. A great retreat from the city within reasonable driving distance for a weekend."

  • Simply terrific!

"If you're looking for an outdoorsy summer vacation with all --really more-- of the comforts of home, this is the place. Situated on a ridge in the Catskills, this tasteful, well-kept and maintained house has a great view, lots of peace and quiet, a large lawn to goof around on, a swimmable pond with an adjacent fire pit, and hot tub -- perfect for soothing tired legs after hiking for the day. Also, very pet-friendly. The owner is thoughtful and easy to deal with. The only problem is when it's time to leave, you'll wish you could stay longer. Highly recommended."

  • Great Summer Weekend Getaway

"Just came back from a weekend getaway at the Mountain View Log Cabin and my husband and I couldn't be happier. It was a great way to spend my birthday weekend. We brought 10 guests (including kids) and 2 dogs with us and we all had an amazing time. There was something to do for everyone. The house was even better than the pictures. The view was breathtaking. I would absolutely recommend this house to anyone. It was clean upon arrival and all the mentioned amenities worked great. The property was clean and extremely well taken care of. The hammock and swing were our favorite spots to sit in the early morning and evening. The kids loved the game rooms and the bedroom down there was great for them. (One bad thing about that room was that the linens and blankets were all damp from being in the basement area. I don't know if that can be fixed or if it's what comes with basements.) All the other rooms were great and very comfortable. Everyone had more than enough space. The adults enjoyed sitting on the deck and taking in the view. The yard was great for a wiffle ball game. We went zip lining and visited the creek. I would have liked to know a little bit more about the surrounding activities but with a short time here we were able to enjoy the house and the amenities provided. On our way out we saw a great spot on the mountain to park and hike. Hopefully we can do that next time, as we are planning on making this a yearly tradition. We were sad our stay was so short. The owner was great and extremely accommodating. We were able to book and secure the house in a short amount of time. I would without a doubt definitely recommend this house to family and friends. We can't wait to come back in the winter to use the sauna and see the mountains covered with snow. Thank you, thank you for a memorable stay at your lovely home, Lauren and Gabe :)"
