"The Magical Catskills Farmhouse lives up to it's name. It became available at the exact time we needed it and offered a safe and nurturing environment for myself and my young children. Our family stayed there for the entire month of April and it was hardly enough time to settle in. The Easter holiday was one that they will remember for years to come. We truly enjoyed every minute of our stay with plenty of room to spread out and entertain family and friends. The quality amenities (the kitchen is amazing) were just what we needed to provide a restful respite from our daily life. My boys were very safe and enjoyed the expansive property with the beautiful creek almost as much as exploring the nooks and crannies of this ample home. Lois was completely available and a pleasure to conduct business with. She answered any questions we had right away and allowed us some much needed privacy. I have already recommended this property family and friends who would like some genuine down time in the Catskills!"

"This is the second time we have been to the cottage. Once more, it was the greatest break I could expect from stress. At only 109 miles from NYC, we have everything we can dream of and do not have in Biggle Apple: peace, free of noise and dust, fresh air, and beautiful surroundings all around! I just missed the deer we saw in 2011! The cottage is ravishing, has everything we needed and has this large corral where my 2 little Pomeranians were literately jumping of joy (like rabbits do when they run)! They both recognized the place right away and were so frantic that they made me regret to have to come back after only 3 days..... We spent our time relaxing and basking in the sun on the porch and drove a little bit in the catskills where the scenery is absolutely stunning! It was perfect.
Also the owner kindly replied right away to text messages and calls we sent for details.
This location is a piece of jewelry indeed!"

"Three years ago, my husband and I decided to look for an upstate summer getaway (we live and work in NYC). We looked at a few places, but knew immediately that we felt good about this place. It is cozy while having an open lay-out. It has everything you would need - enough space for guests should they come, a good kitchen, washer/dryer, and entertainment. Best of all, really, is that it's across the street from a motorless lake.
We've been back since - 4th of July weekend in 2012, a full month last August.
We first rented Amber Lake as a couple -- and have been happy to introduce our toddler to Amber Lake and the Catskills. (He loved it -- and calls the place "wa-wa" for the water/lake). It's cool and quiet without being remote - Livingston Manor has a cute little town with a great bakery, market, and diner.
My husband fishes at the lake, we walk go for walks, barbeque on the porch... our time here has been memorable and truly part of our family's story.
Communicating with the owners has been easy via phone or email, and we've had no issues in all the times we've stayed there.
Highly recommend (even though, as I write this, I fear that we will find Amber Lake unavailable for the next time we want to visit!)"

"My family stayed at the house for 1 month and had a wonderful time. The house was as described and looked brand new. House and kitchen had all the amenities we could want (including a fantastic blender!). We had one small problem and help was there in no time!
I think they must have changed the bed in the master since the last review because we found a very comfortable queen mattress.
The neighborhood is very quiet and neighbors are so far apart you really don't know they are there. Lake is small but nice for paddling around, my children went for a row or paddle almost every day - if you are looking for serious fishing you will need to go to one of the very nearby rivers.
Livingston Manor and Roscoe are both cool little towns with great restaurants and a very authentic German bakery."
