  • great house in a cool area

"My family stayed at the house for 1 month and had a wonderful time. The house was as described and looked brand new. House and kitchen had all the amenities we could want (including a fantastic blender!). We had one small problem and help was there in no time! I think they must have changed the bed in the master since the last review because we found a very comfortable queen mattress. The neighborhood is very quiet and neighbors are so far apart you really don't know they are there. Lake is small but nice for paddling around, my children went for a row or paddle almost every day - if you are looking for serious fishing you will need to go to one of the very nearby rivers. Livingston Manor and Roscoe are both cool little towns with great restaurants and a very authentic German bakery."

  • Most relaxing vacation

"This place is paradise. The house is old, but has some old farm charm, and the outdoor space is simply breathtaking. There is nature everywhere - quiet and beautiful. The road in front of the house (about 100 feet away) brought only one car past the house in the 4 days we stayed here. Our dog was off leash, exploring the area the entire time and we felt completely safe. Our toddler was delighted by all the country sights and sounds, and we spent afternoons lounging lazily in the hammock. Would love to return."

  • Fantastic Weekend Getaway

"My girlfriend and I wanted a weekend getaway from the busy life in NYC and for our 2 year anniversary. We could not have been happier about our stay. The place was perfect for a romantic getaway. Looks like an older rustic farm cottage on the outside and is beautifully furnished on the inside - hardwood, new appliances, comfortable simple yet has everything you need. Could definitely tell the place has a lot of meaning to the owners. Julie (owner) was fantastic - easy going, great to talk to, very accommodating. We were disappointed we didn't get to meet her until we were leaving. We went hiking at a nearby park and traveled to Newport (about 40 minutes away). Everything about it was perfect. We will be coming back very soon in the future!!!"

  • A great location for hikers

"We stayed here for a week in late September for a week of hiking, biking, and kayaking. It was our first time in the Catskills and the beautiful weather matched the beautiful area. This is a great central location for outdoor activities. Morgan Outdoors in Livingston Manor was very helpful in recommending hikes and local outdoor activities. In addition to groceries, Peck's Market in LM has a bakery and hot coffee! We really liked the privacy afforded by the owner's 2 large lots compared to some of the homes on other lakes in the area which were packed in next to one another. The location is also very convenient to both the towns of Livingston Manor and Roscoe. The kitchen is well supplied and the living area has very comfortable furniture. We also appreciated the broadband wifi for online research of areas to hike and the cable TV for relaxing in the evening. Our only suggestion to the owner is that a queen size bed in one of the bedrooms would be more comfortable for adults than the double beds."
