  • Snowy paradise!

"My husband, teen sons, large furry dog and I had a wonderful time in Jackie and Paul's cabin. We wandered the snowy fields, skied and warmed our bellies with Sweet Sue's pancakes. It was the perfect combination of privacy (teenage boys) and family time, with nightly board games in front of the wood stove. The house was not wanting for anything and the beds and bed linens were extra wonderful. The basement with ping pong and pool was heavily used and the large furry dog had lots of room to chase her ball. We hope to visit in all of the seasons!"

  • Amazing View and Property

"There were eight of us and a small child celebrating my 40th birthday and we all had an AMAZING time. The house was well-kept, spacious, large enough for all of us, and provided great views of the property...especially the glass/screened in area. What makes this place special is the view. You can see for miles and miles and feel like you are in your own little world. Everywhere you look is beautiful--mountains, forest, a pond, etc. We just sat outside for hours (even in the rain, with a pop-up canopy). The pond has a paddle boat that was surprisingly relaxing--just peddle a few times and float and repeat. We all agreed that we would love to come back again. As a side note to future guests--make sure you bring your own paper supplies. All the utensils, dishware, and cooking appliances are there, but things like paper towels and toilet paper are limited (I'm assuming just left overs from previous guests). This is not a complaint, just a heads up. Overall, a great place. The pictures don't do it justice. Totally relaxing and chill. You won't be disappointed!"

  • Beautiful property in upstate NY

"Gianni and his wife are wonderful hosts and have a great house in upstate New York. We were two couples looking to get away from the city and had a wonderfully relaxing weekend at their home. The house is great especially if you are a couple traveling alone or with kids (the downstairs room has twin beds). The property is breathtaking and there are two lovely ponds that you can swim in. The water is cold but very refreshing on a summer day. Even if you don't swim, it's nice to bring a blanket and sit by the water. The firepit may be one of the best features. We sat for hours in the evening by the fire. If you're interested in wood, Gianni can tell you about the diverse range of trees on his property as well as teach you about some of the gorgeous wood he's harvested. This was a part of the trip we found very enjoyable. Our only two issues during the trip were that the grill stopped working and also that the bottle opener in the house was worn out and didn't work very well. I believe Gianni was planning to get a new grill, but I would suggest bringing your own wine opener if they don't have a new one:) While in town, I'd recommend checking if there is a local auction happening. We attended an auction which was a fun experience for all and a great place to find amazing deals (if you have the time and patience!)."

  • great house in a cool area

"My family stayed at the house for 1 month and had a wonderful time. The house was as described and looked brand new. House and kitchen had all the amenities we could want (including a fantastic blender!). We had one small problem and help was there in no time! I think they must have changed the bed in the master since the last review because we found a very comfortable queen mattress. The neighborhood is very quiet and neighbors are so far apart you really don't know they are there. Lake is small but nice for paddling around, my children went for a row or paddle almost every day - if you are looking for serious fishing you will need to go to one of the very nearby rivers. Livingston Manor and Roscoe are both cool little towns with great restaurants and a very authentic German bakery."
