  • A Piece of Heaven in Downsville, NY

"Our stay in Downsville was wonderful. The home was in fabulous shape with a fully stocked kitchen. Views from the porch were spectacular. Rooms were comfortable and spacious. We enjoyed sitting outside each night looking at the stars. The property is within seven miles of Downsville and easy to get to. It is a great spot for a getaway from the stress of daily life."

  • Exceptional Home Location and Owners

"A Home away from Home. We spent nearly a week at the Dream Log Home. Ruth the owner was so special working with us to prepare for a wedding barbecue for a large group. She was so helpful I felt like she was a good friend. She and her husband make you feel so at home and relaxed while using their home. Exceptional in all aspects. You could not find a home in Woodstock that offers more. Beautifully furnished, fully equipped, well maintained. The patio/fire pit setting along a stream surrounded by torch lights is a You, your family and friends will enjoy the added benefit of the Man Cave (entertainment center) The private setting located at the end of a long tree lined road is so tranquil yet close to Woodstock life and events. Our event went into the night and outdoor lighting added to the event. Caretaker is very friendly and readily available. Our son's wedding was held at the Byrdcliff Barn and Theater. and Sunday Brunch at The Bear Cafe only minutes away. Starting our wedding week end at the Dream Log Home was perfect. This home is ideal for a large or small gathering of family and friends as well as a romantic couple get away. Treat you, your family and friends to spending time at The Dream Log Home. We hope to do so again in the future. We spent hours looking for the perfect location in Woodstock. I can assure you this is the perfect one in all aspects."

  • Charming and cozy Shandaken farmhouse

"We stayed at the Shandaken farmhouse for several months and it was truly our home away from home. Perfectly cozy and comfortable, plenty of space for us to spread out and enjoy our extended stay. The kitchen is large and open and has everything we needed to cook all of our meals just as if we were at home, as well as the convenience of a dishwasher plus new stove and refrigerator. The dining room is huge with plenty of seating for meals or gatherings with family and friends. With washer and dryer, WIFI, flat screen TVs, working stone fireplace, outside grill, and a host of other amenities, you will have anything and everything you need. We especially love the front porch with comfy wicker seating, we spent many spring/summer/fall mornings and afternoons there, enjoying the sights, sounds and smells of nature and the changing seasons. In summer, we had a close up view of the hummingbirds feeding on the trumpet vine and rose of sharon. Marty is a joy to interact with, in fact we now consider her to be a friend. She clearly loves the house and has restored and furnished it with love, yet we never felt like we were intruding in someone else's house - we felt like we could live in it, not treat it like a museum or antique shop. This farmhouse is in a great location to explore all the area has to offer at any time of year. And when the weather doesn't cooperate, you won't go stir crazy if you decide to stay in. We will always have fond memories of the time we spent at the Shandaken farmhouse!"

  • A nice escape from the city

"My wife, 2 year old son and I stayed at Tusten Farms Manor House for a week in June and really enjoyed ourselves. We were looking to get out of the city and just spend some quality time together (most of our trips seem to be with friends or extensive family). The house is at the end of private road with only two other homes and is surrounded by trees. You can't see the neighbors and it certainly makes you feel like you have your own bit of peace and quiet. The tennis court and pool are situated a little bit away from the house and are themselves surrounded by trees which makes for a great setting as you feel like you're swimming or playing in the middle of a forest and not in a backyard. We used the pool every day. The home is well kept and the owner responsive in terms of answering questions, returning the security deposit, etc. The drive from/to Manhattan was about 2 hours but on the way we took our time and stopped at Whole Foods and a few other places to pick up items for the week. If you're looking for fresh air, quiet, and a nice home with pool to enjoy both (i.e. a break from the city) then Tusten Farms Manor House is likely for you. It was one of our more relaxing, enjoyable trips."
