"Our family of 4 (kids ages 3 and 6) stayed for 2 nights in Chip and Susie's beautiful cottage in the woods. What a lovely, relaxing treat! They were such friendly and accommodating hosts, and were so incredibly kind to our children. For city dwellers like us, having a weekend to hike wade in the river, toast marshmallows over a bonfire, collect caterpillars, and swing on their tree swing was just something out of a dream. Being a rustic place, there was a small time period when the electricity went out, so Susie took it upon herself to bring over buckwheat and bananas to make a lovely pancake breakfast on the gas stove. We were even able to cut some rainbow chard and kale from their garden to use in our dinner one night! We found the home to be clean and comfortable, and the property gorgeously landscaped. Our kids can't stop talking about their perfect wilderness weekend, and we hope to be back again and again....."

"My family has had the pleasure of staying in this house during each of the last two ski seasons, and we have had wonderful experiences. The house itself is very charming. In an area where some houses can be a bit "rustic," this house is quite beautiful with all of the wood beams. The kitchen has every single item of need. The beds are comfortable, and there is ample room to spread out. The location is terrific. So close to the town of Phoenicia with several good dining options (including our favorite - The Phoenicia Diner). It is also very close to Belleayre, Hunter and Windham, so all are accessible. It is also a short drive to Woodstock. On top of it all, the owner Sandy is truly a gem. She is extremely responsive to all questions and requests and really is such a pleasure. I recommend her and her house to anyone seeking a great getaway in the beautiful Catskills."

"We very much enjoyed our short stay at this house. We had a mini-reunion with my brother from western NY so the Catskills were a convenient mid-point (we live in Central Massachusetts). The house was in great shape and the deck overlooking the stream was the epitome of relaxing. The house was also well stocked except for a shortage of regular spoons. :-)
While we were in the area, we hiked to the Kaaterskill Falls which were very impressive. We also took a pleasant walk at the Ashokan Reservoir a short distance away and walked around Woodstock which was within a half-hour drive. We also saw the world's largest kaleidoscope (!) at the Emerson Spa, also close, and got coffee for the drive home at Mama's Boy in downtown Phoenicia.
Overall, just a very, very nice and easy experience. And I love the Homeaway mobile app that was very handy!"

"Perfect get away in the mountains in a perfect location. Very clean, nicely decorated, and comfortable. Great location for fishing, hiking, and scenery is spectacular. We had campfires each night and enjoyed cooking on the grill in the fresh mountain air. Enjoyed the Phoenicia Diner and Brio's restaurant. Went fishing in the Esopus Creek as well! David and June were available for any needs or questions, and left materials in the home on the area, menus, maps, etc. We definitely hope to return!"
