  • Great house, Great Weekend!

"Starlin was very nice and easy to work with. She made the whole experience stress free and provided plenty of information beforehand (places to eat, cab info etc for the area). I stayed in Oct for a girls getaway and we had such a great time. We went to Oktoberfest which was easily a 5 minute walk from the house. Our original dates were from sat to monday but since Starlin had the house open that Friday she let us go a day early at no extra charge which was so nice of her. The house is very cozy, clean and comfortable inside. We spend the last day outside on the porch which had a pretty view especially in the fall. Would definitely come back for a weekend in the winter. Thanks Starlin for everything :-)"

  • Perfect August Getaway

"Our "family of six" -- three people, family dog and two guinea pigs -- enjoyed the "Buddha Barn" for three glorious weeks this summer. Fresh peaches off the tree in the enormous garden, mountains of flowers, a wonderful terrace and porch, fires in the fireplace and beautiful stars at night were just a few highlights of the property. The farmhouse is full of elegant furnishings and offbeat touches. Not a stark environment, loads of personality. Historic charm but all the modern conveniences like wi-fi and good cookware. Lots of bedrooms, so a good choice for large families and groups, or in our case, lots of room for friends and cousins to spend the night. No unpleasant surprises, and many nice ones, like fancy soaps left out, plenty of towels and bedding, and an assortment of sun hats by the door. The area is home to the deer tick and we were well warned about that, but we only encountered one in three weeks, on the first day. Our hosts couldn't have been nicer and provided lots of information about the house and the area, including a Google map of resources and attractions. They gave us privacy while making themselves available in case of questions, and questions did come up during our long stay. Always a prompt and friendly reply. Very easy to find, and a good base for exploring the charms of Sullivan County. We made day trips to Skinner's Falls, Crystal Lake, Catskills Park, Sam's Point, and even the Dutchess County fair on the other side of the Hudson. Would be happy to return or to recommend to friends and relatives. In fact, one of those places you almost DON'T want to tell people about, lest you not be able to book a stay yourself!"

  • Catskill Hollow

"This house, this land, this town is a dream. You leave the city and you wake up in a fairytale. My husband, and most recently our new baby, have been staying at this home for over 3 years and each time we find the trip to be more fulfilling then the last. One could spend a lifetime on the porch alone! But the community offers many day trips to tease you away and fill your day with joy! The local food scene (inclusive of all the fresh farm goods, local restaurants, and the food coop) ensure your stay is filled with delicious treats. And the surrounding villages provide endless entertainment. I cannot, with words, cast the spell on you that this house will! The owner is great to work with, easily assessable if you have questions and will point you in the direction you need to have a great stay. Catskill Hollow cannot be beat! It IS the heart of the Catskills."
