"We spent the last two weeks of August at the farmhouse in Bovina. We've rented other properties in the Catskills, but this is the first one that not only lived up to our expectations, but exceeded them. The property itself is enormous (well over 100 acres), gorgeous, and beautifully maintained. It was a pleasure to simply sit on the front porch and drink of cup of coffee or a glass of wine. My husband and dog would hike up to the top of the hill behind the house every morning and take in the amazing view. We swam in the pond, played lots of dog Frisbee on the grass, and went for long runs on the Catskill scenic trail nearby.
The kitchen was well equipped and spacious. There was a nice Weber grill outside. And we made dinners many nights from produce purchased at local farm stands and farmers' markets and vegetables and herbs straight from the garden. If we didn't feel like cooking, we could drive to the nice little restaurant in Bovina Center, or get Friday night pizza in Bloomville, or just grab a burger and a beer in Andes.
Our two weeks in Bovina were supremely idyllic and we were sorry that we had to return to the city."

"My extended family of 9 adults, 2 children, and 4 dogs spent a week this August at Lago House. INSIDE: The house is very "utilitarian"- not a lot of "homey" extras, very simple décor. That being said, there was room for everyone with the 5 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms. The bathrooms were acceptable in cleanliness as were the bedrooms. The downstairs family room and bedrooms were quite musty smelling when we arrived, but that was easily rectified by opening some windows and emptying the dehumidifier so it would continue to run. The children appreciated the big TV and couch in the downstairs family room on the rainy days to watch the Disney channel. The biggest con inside was probably the kitchen. Several of the cabinet drawers were broken, there may have been mouse poop in one, the dishwasher hardly cleaned any dishes (even after they had been rinsed), and I discovered a leak under the sink on check-out day. It could use some maintenance. Some supplies were lacking- there were only 6 coffee mugs and 8 forks to be found. I ended up donating 4 mugs I bought at the Walmart in Oneonta (20 miles away) to the cause. We used the stove, oven, refrigerator, microwave, washer, dryer & propane grill with no issue. (We did not use the hot tub so I cannot comment on that.) OUTSIDE: The location is quite rural as described in the listing- best to be prepared and bring your supplies with you. It is quite a ways to get to any store! The large yard was great for ladder golf and football. The swings were used for hours on end. The firepit down by the water was great for smores and corn roasted on the coals. The lake is small, but the fishing was quite good. Our group caught several large bass, crappie, and pickerel, as well as perch and blue gills (all catch & release). The rowboats were in good repair and were used several times daily. As for swimming, a couple of our group swam in the middle of the lake from the kayaks we brought along. The lake frontage of the camp and area around the dock was quite congested with weeds, algae, and the like. None of us were willing to sink our feet into that! And a word of caution- the deck gets slippery when wet with rain. Be careful on the stairs! OVERALL: Lago House was large enough for our group and accepted pets. The fishermen enjoyed the offerings of Titus Lake. There are some areas that could use some improvement, but none that kept us from enjoying our vacation together. My boys say they would love to go back!"

"We stayed at this lovely cabin during our family reunion in walton and everything was so nice. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. Maria gave us a wonderful welcome gift basket with lots of goodies inside which was a nice surprise! Maria was a pleasure to deal with and very helpful telling us about the Sidney Dam which was so beautiful for swimming and even had a dog beach for our dog to swim at. We will definitely be back!"
