  • Comfortable cabin in the woods

"Cabin 1 was really great for a weekend away. The area was secluded, but still could see neighboring houses. It really felt like the kind of place that was exciting but comfortable. Every morning there were huge pileated woodpeckers we could see out the windows or while relaxing in the hot tub. So cool. The house is Very clean and bright. The fireplace was ready for us and we brought in 3 bags of wood from the local Stewart's for a comfy fire. The kitchen had pots, pans, utensils, coffeemaker, microwave... Everything we needed for the groceries we brought in and it was a quick drive into town for some shopping and people watching. I can't wait to try out the other cabins on future visits."

  • Quiet and peaceful weekend escape

"My husband, dog and I enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing and restorative weekend at this home in the woods. The large windows allowed in tremendous sunlight which made it easy to feel cozy and warm during a chilly ice storm. We were close enough to amenities to pick up some groceries and items we desired (although the kitchen was well stocked for us!), yet far enough away so that we did not need to see neighbors or others as we hiked through the snow with our pooch. The steam shower was a treat! We would welcome the opportunity to return (actually, just tried to book again, yet our selected dates are filled up!). Thank you, Karyn, for your attention and responsiveness - we appreciate you sharing your wonderful home with us."

  • Very nice cabin in a quiet location

"My husband, 3 month old daughter and I stayed here for a long weekend. We arrived on a Thursday night and left on Saturday. Friday was a cold day so after going to town for breakfast, we went back to the cabin and hung out there all day - relaxing, napping and enjoying the quiet! This cabin was very nicely renovated and everything in the main room and bedroom were very nice! The kitchen was well-equipped. We didn't cook in the cabin, but I made coffee every morning and there seemed to be enough cooking supplies for those who wanted to cook. The living room has a nice 'fake' fireplace as a heater and it was very cozy. The bedroom was perfect as well. The bed was comfortable and there was ample closet space. The bathroom was adequate, but not nearly as well-done as the rest of the cabin. It looked a bit shabby. One of the best features is the outdoor hot tub! We enjoyed it in the evenings and a chilly afternoon. One suggestion to the owner would be to supply additional towels. We only had two towels and had to use them for showers and post-hot tub. Note: this house is not walking distance to town. It's about a half mile from 212 and then, once on 212, it's another mile or so to the village green. If you are looking for a place where you can walk to town...this is not it. However, if you want proximity to town but a remote, quiet place to return to at the end of an outing, then this place is great! We ate breakfast both mornings at Oriole 9 - love this place and highly recommend it! We had dinner at the Bear Cafe and at the Red Onion - both were excellent and a very short drive from the house."
