  • 2015 Ski vacation with family

"Thank you Sarah and Steve for letting us stay in your cozy lovely home. We had a wonderful time. Windham MT was less than a 5 minute drive. The house had towels, plenty of blankets and paper goods. The owners were quick to answer emails and calls. The kids enjoyed the outdoors and sliding down on their sleds. The view from the house is so pretty. Beautiful house! Would definitely come back!"

  • Serene property, lovely hosts!

"My review comes many months too late, but it shows just how great my stay was at this property. Lewis was so easy to work with. In the beginning I was surprised by the formality of the process (compared to my other experience booking via VRBO): he sent over a thorough contract and requested a few other things before we could finalize the booking. Seeing how attentive he was from the start, though, I knew there would be no surprises (bad ones, of course) once we arrived. And I was right -- the property was lovely. Spacious, clean, serene ... a beautiful house located just a short walk from the village center. My friends and I (a total of five) all loved the place, and if we ever get a chance to return to Roxbury, we know where we'll be looking. Thanks Lewis and Abigail!"

  • Perfect August Getaway

"Our "family of six" -- three people, family dog and two guinea pigs -- enjoyed the "Buddha Barn" for three glorious weeks this summer. Fresh peaches off the tree in the enormous garden, mountains of flowers, a wonderful terrace and porch, fires in the fireplace and beautiful stars at night were just a few highlights of the property. The farmhouse is full of elegant furnishings and offbeat touches. Not a stark environment, loads of personality. Historic charm but all the modern conveniences like wi-fi and good cookware. Lots of bedrooms, so a good choice for large families and groups, or in our case, lots of room for friends and cousins to spend the night. No unpleasant surprises, and many nice ones, like fancy soaps left out, plenty of towels and bedding, and an assortment of sun hats by the door. The area is home to the deer tick and we were well warned about that, but we only encountered one in three weeks, on the first day. Our hosts couldn't have been nicer and provided lots of information about the house and the area, including a Google map of resources and attractions. They gave us privacy while making themselves available in case of questions, and questions did come up during our long stay. Always a prompt and friendly reply. Very easy to find, and a good base for exploring the charms of Sullivan County. We made day trips to Skinner's Falls, Crystal Lake, Catskills Park, Sam's Point, and even the Dutchess County fair on the other side of the Hudson. Would be happy to return or to recommend to friends and relatives. In fact, one of those places you almost DON'T want to tell people about, lest you not be able to book a stay yourself!"

  • Awesome Spot

"My wife, four kids, and I spent a week at this place in early August, and we had a fabulous time. The house comfortably fit all six of us, and the property had so much for us to do that we didn't even pull out of the driveway on several of the days of our vacation! The acres of hiking trails, the large pond with floating dock and canoe, the firepit, and the pool kept our gang happily occupied the entirety of our stay. Michael was an excellent host, meeting us upon our arrival, giving us a detailed lay of the land, and then leaving us to get settled. The home's close proximity to the small town of Callicoon (20 minute drive) made for some fun family excursions, especially on Sunday when we spent a few hours in town for the Farmer's Market. We had such a blast that the kids are already talking about when we will get a chance to make a return trip!"
