  • Beautiful property in upstate NY

"Gianni and his wife are wonderful hosts and have a great house in upstate New York. We were two couples looking to get away from the city and had a wonderfully relaxing weekend at their home. The house is great especially if you are a couple traveling alone or with kids (the downstairs room has twin beds). The property is breathtaking and there are two lovely ponds that you can swim in. The water is cold but very refreshing on a summer day. Even if you don't swim, it's nice to bring a blanket and sit by the water. The firepit may be one of the best features. We sat for hours in the evening by the fire. If you're interested in wood, Gianni can tell you about the diverse range of trees on his property as well as teach you about some of the gorgeous wood he's harvested. This was a part of the trip we found very enjoyable. Our only two issues during the trip were that the grill stopped working and also that the bottle opener in the house was worn out and didn't work very well. I believe Gianni was planning to get a new grill, but I would suggest bringing your own wine opener if they don't have a new one:) While in town, I'd recommend checking if there is a local auction happening. We attended an auction which was a fun experience for all and a great place to find amazing deals (if you have the time and patience!)."

  • Best Catskills Vacation Ever

"We spent the last two weeks of August at the farmhouse in Bovina. We've rented other properties in the Catskills, but this is the first one that not only lived up to our expectations, but exceeded them. The property itself is enormous (well over 100 acres), gorgeous, and beautifully maintained. It was a pleasure to simply sit on the front porch and drink of cup of coffee or a glass of wine. My husband and dog would hike up to the top of the hill behind the house every morning and take in the amazing view. We swam in the pond, played lots of dog Frisbee on the grass, and went for long runs on the Catskill scenic trail nearby. The kitchen was well equipped and spacious. There was a nice Weber grill outside. And we made dinners many nights from produce purchased at local farm stands and farmers' markets and vegetables and herbs straight from the garden. If we didn't feel like cooking, we could drive to the nice little restaurant in Bovina Center, or get Friday night pizza in Bloomville, or just grab a burger and a beer in Andes. Our two weeks in Bovina were supremely idyllic and we were sorry that we had to return to the city."

  • Stylish spot in funky Woodstock.

"The Villa in Woodstock is handsomely decorated and well appointed. Very comfortable in every way....beds, chairs, dining options. Wonderful indoor and outdoor spaces for conversation. Easy parking in a town where parking is an issue. Close to stores. We used both apartments for 9 people and the flow was easy. The town is loud and that is not a problem in this charming oasis."

  • Beautiful, Spacious Woodstock home

"This is a tastefully decorated, 3BR house nestled in the mountains of Woodstock. There is a huge deck on the lower-level which is perfect for eating, grilling, etc. There are also 3 other decks, one leading to the woods in the backyard, another facing the mountains on the upper level family room, and a small private deck in the master bedroom with the same front-facing view. There is also a salt water pool to the side of the home, neatly kept with nice furniture. Unfortuntaly, when we vistited we weren't able to use it due to the chilly weather. The home comfortably sleeps 8 (6 in the 3 BRs and 2 on sofabeds). Our favorite part of the home was the kitchen, which has a somewhat modern look and feel. Upon our arrival, the home was very clean and ready for us to use. The owners are very friendly and were a pleasure to deal with. We make annual trips up to Woodstock, typically in the late summer/fall season. The area is very laid back, has a great main street area with unique shops and restaurants (5-6 min drive away from the home). Our favorite part of Woodstock is the hike up Overlook mountain and the drive along the road splitting the Ashokan Reservoir. If you do hike Overlook mountain, once you pass the former hotel/abandoned structure and reach the top, there is a ranger office. Be sure to walk to the right of it and to the scenic overlook (about 1 minute beyond the office). By far the most gorgeous view I have ever seen. Enjoy!!"
