  • Absolutely Wonderful! Second Time Around

"This is the second time my family and I have rented this cabin and once again we had a fabulous time! The cabin is secluded and cozy and had everything we needed. The perfect place to unwind. And the addition of the firepit and the hot tub made it even better. The caretakers are wonderful and responded quickly to our minor request and were there shoveling the snow first thing. We're already working on dates for our next visit. Thanks Tiffany"

  • Fantastic property.

"We spent Xmas week here, 4 adults and 4 children, 3 and under. It's a beautiful place in a great location. Five minutes walk to the village but quiet with unobstructed views. Plenty of space for everyone although we centered most of our time in the cozy dome. The finish is high quality, everything works and the furnishings suite the property. It feels like a home rather than a bare bones holiday rental. The master suite is lovely (our 2 children actually slept very happily in the walk in closet). The other bedrooms are great too. Lovely cosy place to spend a week in the winter but I am sure it's equally great in the summer."

  • A nice escape from the city

"My wife, 2 year old son and I stayed at Tusten Farms Manor House for a week in June and really enjoyed ourselves. We were looking to get out of the city and just spend some quality time together (most of our trips seem to be with friends or extensive family). The house is at the end of private road with only two other homes and is surrounded by trees. You can't see the neighbors and it certainly makes you feel like you have your own bit of peace and quiet. The tennis court and pool are situated a little bit away from the house and are themselves surrounded by trees which makes for a great setting as you feel like you're swimming or playing in the middle of a forest and not in a backyard. We used the pool every day. The home is well kept and the owner responsive in terms of answering questions, returning the security deposit, etc. The drive from/to Manhattan was about 2 hours but on the way we took our time and stopped at Whole Foods and a few other places to pick up items for the week. If you're looking for fresh air, quiet, and a nice home with pool to enjoy both (i.e. a break from the city) then Tusten Farms Manor House is likely for you. It was one of our more relaxing, enjoyable trips."

  • Wonderful long weekend getaway

"My wife, myself, our 8-year-old daughter and another couple stayed at the farmhouse for a long weekend in early November. We had a great time and felt right at home in the cottage, on the grounds and throughout the surrounding area. We had some cold weather the first night and the hillsides were dusted with snow, which gave everything an early-winter feel. We cranked up the wood-fired cookstove in the kitchen and it filled the house with that warmth that only cast iron can provide (there's also a regular furnace and thermostats to heat the place). The house was clean, neat and comfortable. The kitchen is well appointed with cookware, utensils, dishes, etc. On the first morning, our host gave our little girl a quick tour of the henhouse on the working farm, which she thoroughly enjoyed. After breakfast that included some of the farm-fresh eggs, we took a long walk on the rail trial right out back. It passes through quiet old farm country bounded by the wooded hillsides of the northern Catskills. We spent many hours in Hobart's bookstores right up the road, there are seven of them by my count and the town is a mecca for anyone who loves reading. We toured some of the country roads and stopped in to some antique shops, farmstands and sampled some other local spots. We hope to return in the spring with our bikes to ride a longer section of the rail trail. Also, I'd like to bring my flyrod to fish the West Branch of the Delaware, a stone's throw from the farm. In all we had a great time and I would highly recommend the farmhouse to anyone seeking a quiet getaway. -rjj"
