  • A Very Nice Place to Stay, and Mike Rocks!

"I booked the apartment to stay while my son played (and slept) at Cooperstown Dreams Park, and I am glad I did. First, Mike Bollo was extremely easy to work with. There were absolutely no problems booking the apartment. Mike provided excellent instructions to access the property and he returned my security deposit the day after I checked out. No fuss, no games, just easy accomodating business. Mike gets 5 stars. The apartment does sleep 4 (two full beds.) It was clean and ready for use when I arrived. Sheets were clean, as were the towels and washcloths. I did not use the kitchen for anything but making coffee, so I will not comment on anything else. There appeared to be enough utensils and pots and pans to feed four. (Although, Mike, I would have 4 wine glasses installed.) The bathroom was small but absolutely clean and usable. Nice flat screen TV. Laundry below in the basement was fine, but watch your head if you are tall! In talking with other parents renting in the area, I deduced that this apartment is well above average for the area/price. This apartment gets 4 stars. There are two drawbacks that Mike cannot control. First, as advertised, the cell phone coverage is negligible. Mike's WiFi and land line work fine, but until the locals demand a tower or two forget about your texts and calls. Also, the house sits on Route 205, which is a popular thoroughfare for cars and trucks. If you plan to leave for the day, no trouble. But if you plan on spending some daytime at the apartment, you will hear the road noise. You may want to consider Mike's carriage house, which is much further away from the road. So while the area is lovely and convenient for Cooperstown activity, I have to give it 3 stars. (I could manage the road noise, but since I was working during the week, really missed the cell coverage.) Plain and simple, while there were two drawbacks, I would rent the same apartment. And I would certainly do business with Mike any time."

  • Great Lake House for Baseball Families

"We stayed with some families during the Cooperstown baseball tournament and must say we couldn't have had a better time. The house is spectacular, and very clean with a kitchen that has everything, comfy beds in clean bedrooms with great views. The siblings were fully occupied between swimming in a beautiful lake with a water trampoline, a high end hot tub, and a great game room. After long hot days of watching baseball we enjoyed evenings relaxing on the lovely deck overlooking the lake. We caught some bluegill, perch and bass off the boat dock and had multiple visits from 'Charlie' the 30 pound carp. Easy and scenic drive to downtown, and the Cooperstown DreamsPark. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. It was an unforgettable stay."

  • Surprisingly spacious

"Surprisingly large 'cottage' in a very convenient location with lovely views. Potential problem of a very cold early fall night was remedied by the arrival of space heaters for all the bed rooms. No complaints from our Cooperstown bound wedding crew. Although we did not try, it looked as if canoe access to the lake would be difficult. However, for golf lovers, one of the country's oldest courses is just outside the door. A car is essential."

  • Wonderful long-weekend experience with extended family

"This large, well maintained Victorian home provided a very comfortable for our group of 4 adults and 1 kid. There were more than enough bedrooms for the two couples and child, and each group had their own bathroom (there are 3 total). There is a large kitchen and equally spacious dining area with plenty of room for large groups to eat. It's a warm, welcoming place with room for everyone to gather together for games (many are provided at the house) or to watch TV/movies, but there's also room enough for everyone to also find a quiet, private spot when needed. The home is stocked with linens, towels and kitchen-ware and has a full size washer and dryer that look brand new. The house is in an ideal location as it's close to both Cooperstown and Oneonta for day trips; there is so much to do in the area! The house itself is in a beautiful, quiet small town nestled between the hills. There's a playground just a short walk away which kept our daughter busy in the evening, and a gas station/convenience store about a block away. The owner is very friendly and helpful, and stopped in to welcome us, answer any questions and brought a plate of homemade brownies! We would stay here again and definitely recommend this property."
