  • Anne and friends from Pittsburgh

"My friends and I have stayed in this cottage for the last three summers. The cottage was very neat and clean. The view of the lake from all of the windows provided a very peaceful atmosphere within the cottage. The family, who rented the place was very nice and accommodating to us. It was very convenient to be able to fish at the end of the dock. We have always had a nice time when we have been there."

  • Wonderful family reunion site!

"Wonderful location and home for a family reunion, group of friends, or just a family vacation. Right on the lake, fabulous HUGE wrap around porch for enjoying the view, eating and relaxing, plus having the kids playing in site, but not on top of you. We have been to this cottage several times before, and have always enjoyed our stay. The cottage is really well maintained and comfortable, without loosing the charm of a lake house, and plenty of room to have the family or friends without being on top of each other. There are only 2 bathrooms, so groups have to be a tiny bit aware of that, but, you are at a fabulous lake house - so easy to work around. Directly adjacent to the Chautauqua Institution, we got our tickets in advance so we were able to walk thru the gate at the top of the hill to go into "the Grounds" - Kitchen worked well, grocery store not too far off, but if driving and have room, lugging some food and beverages from home can save time and energy! Did not plan on doing laundry, but super helpful to have a good washer & dryer for the inevitable spills. Look forward to returning again some time in the hopefully not too distant future. Great family place."

  • Can't Say Enough Good Things

"My family and I rented the Bantley house a few weeks ago. It is such a spacious house. It fit 4 adult couples more than comfortably. We had our coffee every morning out of the back porch overlooking the yard and lake. The yard is large and feels very private. The pool is well maintained, with plenty of lounge chairs. The entire house is very clean. It was a huge bonus for us to have a washer and dryer in the house. We washed several loads during the week and took almost no dirty laundry home with us, and therefore avoided the much dreaded post-vacation mountain of laundry. I would recommend this house to couples, families, and groups of all ages. It was a comfortable and homey vacation rental. We hope to make a trip back next year!"

  • exceeded expectations

"My purpose was to stay at a place that had me feel secluded and able to have fun with a small group. my expectations were met and exceeded. this place offered not only a comfortable stay & relaxed atmosphere but a piece of mind as well. the house, patio, and yard were all perfect. my small group was able to have a fire, music, yard games, and sleep/shower comfortably. I hope to stay again in the future and possible a little longer. I did not find the $1 bills but I loved the challenge !! the only 2 things I would change about that weekend is having the grass cut (it was not a jungle - just a little long). we were still able to manage and play the yard games and have a fire. I also felt it was odd that the cable service did not provide local channels - we were hoping to watch the Preakness Stakes horse race however we did not have the channel available. I still rate this property a 5 and would stay here again without a thought of trying to look for another place. fell in love from the min I arrived."
