  • worth all the stars

"was not sure when I saw all the 5 star ratings how real the reviews were. Took a chance and drove out to look at it and it appeared as advertised. Decided to rent and was glad we did. Weather was very nice for our stay and we really enjoyed the cabin and the area. Naples, Grimes Glen and the Garrett Chapel were all very pleasant to visit and added to the enjoyable stay. Stairs may be a problem for some but look upon them as good exercise and you will be OK. Because it is on a dead end road traffic was very minimal and helped with our nightly walks. Would go back again and would recommend as a rental."

  • A wonderful stay at the lakefront cottage

"We stayed at this lovely lakefront cottage for couple of nights and really enjoyed our stay. The best part was the huge lake right in the backyard - we spent most our time there. The cottage is stocked really well - everything you would need is there. Joni had even arranged for wood to be used for the fire outside. Ample outdoor and indoor chairs and couple of outdoor tables are available to relax and enjoy the lake view. 2 queen beds and 3 bunk beds can easily sleep 10 people. 2 full baths are available. We had couple of issues at the cottage - the dishwasher wasn't working (notified to us in advance) and there was no hot water in the main property (the separate guest house with bunk beds had hot water). Joni was considerate enough to compensate for both these issues through payment adjustment. The location was quite convenient for us too - close from Corning, Watkins Glen and Niagara Falls. All in all a wonderful stay in the finder lakes area. Totally recommended."

  • Perfect!

"Thank you for sharing your GORGEOUS lake house with us. We enjoyed every minute of our stay here. Your house had everything we could possibly need for our vacation, from kitchen supplies, to beach towels. We especially enjoyed using all the rafts and floats! We tried kayaking but were pretty bad at it, unfortunately. We made some great memories on this trip, especially my son catching his first fish! We cannot thank you enough for sharing your house with us. Look for us to book your house again next summer!"

  • Gorgeous setting for relaxing

"The Chosen Place is a wonderful spot for a summer vacation. The owners were very helpful and just a phone call away with answers to any questions. The photos show exactly how lovely and homey the cottage is. The only drawback of the cottage is the very steep stairs to the 2nd bedroom on the lower level. They weren't difficult to navigate, but definitely would not work for someone with a bad knee or hip. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The house is a great size for 4 to 6 people, and the view, well the view from the porch deck made me smile all through my morning pot of coffee. Since the cottage is close to both Naples and Canandaigua, there's so much to do and you can just get up and go without really planning ahead. Just check the weather and take off for an hour or two, or for the day. There were 4 wineries within a few miles, all with gorgeous views and pleasant, helpful staff. Of course there are many places to eat out. Our favorites were Roots Cafe and Lynnie Lou's ice cream. We visited Sonnenburg Gardens, a beautiful mansion with acres of flowers on the grounds. Canandaigua is a gorgeous town with lots to see. I hope to return soon to the cottage and would recommend it highly."
