  • Gorgeous setting for relaxing

"The Chosen Place is a wonderful spot for a summer vacation. The owners were very helpful and just a phone call away with answers to any questions. The photos show exactly how lovely and homey the cottage is. The only drawback of the cottage is the very steep stairs to the 2nd bedroom on the lower level. They weren't difficult to navigate, but definitely would not work for someone with a bad knee or hip. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The house is a great size for 4 to 6 people, and the view, well the view from the porch deck made me smile all through my morning pot of coffee. Since the cottage is close to both Naples and Canandaigua, there's so much to do and you can just get up and go without really planning ahead. Just check the weather and take off for an hour or two, or for the day. There were 4 wineries within a few miles, all with gorgeous views and pleasant, helpful staff. Of course there are many places to eat out. Our favorites were Roots Cafe and Lynnie Lou's ice cream. We visited Sonnenburg Gardens, a beautiful mansion with acres of flowers on the grounds. Canandaigua is a gorgeous town with lots to see. I hope to return soon to the cottage and would recommend it highly."

  • Perfect!

"Thank you for sharing your GORGEOUS lake house with us. We enjoyed every minute of our stay here. Your house had everything we could possibly need for our vacation, from kitchen supplies, to beach towels. We especially enjoyed using all the rafts and floats! We tried kayaking but were pretty bad at it, unfortunately. We made some great memories on this trip, especially my son catching his first fish! We cannot thank you enough for sharing your house with us. Look for us to book your house again next summer!"

  • Perfect visit

"This was my fourth visit to Sycamore Landing. The fall colors were amazing and the property perfect in every way. We enjoyed kayaking, fishing off the dock, sitting on the porch enjoying the views, and feeling just like we were at home. The beds are so comfortable and the kitchen well stocked with everything you need to make meals for the family. The city of Canandaigua is just 35 minutes away and a fun place to shop, visit the boat houses or shop at Wegman's. (My favorite). Naples is only about 15 minutes away for a closer grocery, library, dining, etc. I will definitely return. In fact, I already have my reservation for next year!!!!"

  • Family Vacation with Young Adult Children

"Our host welcomed us on our arrival and explained the ins/outs of the house and the area. They reached out to us several times during the week to see if we needed anything, it was very reassuring. The location of the home is perfect and the views of the lake are just breath-taking. The house was beautifully decorated and the kitchen was stocked with every pot or pan you could imagine needing. It is difficult to plan a vacation with teenagers/young adult children and make every one happy. The house had plenty of room for 7 adults to spread out and relax. The kids kept busy with kayaking, fishing and hiking. Everywhere you might want to go was within walking distance. This place is a real gem and we can't wait to plan another family vacation at Canandaigua Lake."
