  • perfect for a get-away-from-it-all break

"My husband and I and our two big dogs spent a week here and the only bad thing about it was having to pack up and leave at the end of our stay. The house is terrific; well-laid out to take advantage of the views, and has clearly had a lot of attention paid to modernization and maintenance. Appliances and housewares were in great shape, furniture comfortable, everything organized. Excellent Wi-Fi signal, which was great considering cell phone reception is a bit weak. Though the location is relatively isolated, the town of Spencer is a quick ten minutes away and has a good small supermarket. There are a handful of restaurants nearby as well. We came for the peace & quiet, though, so once we had stocked up on necessities we only left for a little wine tasting, a trip to Watkins Glen, and a look around the Corning Museum of Glass. Ithaca is a straightforward drive up the road and has everything you'd need if you can't find it locally. Our dogs ran and swam, we fished and found fossils, built a fire by the pond, hiked the property, caught up on our reading, and sampled some terrific Finger Lakes wine. I would recommend this property to anybody looking for those kinds of activities, it is truly ideal."

  • 2nd time and just as wonderful

"We very much enjoyed our 2nd stay "At The Corner" to attend our daughter's graduation from Ithaca College. The house was everything we expected and more; with the addition of the 5th bedroom on the first floor. The house is very comfortable, clean and full of interresting furniture and decorative pieces. The beds were comfortable, rooms spacious and quiet and the bathrooms were well supplied with big thristy towels. This rental property is very accurately represented on the VRBO site, its location is quiet and peaceful but easily accessible to all the area has to offer. I would highly recommend this property and would look to stay here once again should the need arise."

  • Lovely home, perfect setting.

"Loved the house. 10 of us gathered there for a Bucket List reunion. It was close to many historic sites, convenient to shopping. The house was well appointed-- could use some individual bedside lamps in the "dorm room." The porch is outstanding and a perfect gathering spot in the morning for coffee or the evening for quiet conversation and a glass of wine (from a local winery of course). The dining area is much larger than the pictures on the web site lead you to believe. We seated at least 14 people comfortably there. There is also ample parking."

  • Wonderful Stay

"We rented this house for 3 nights over Ithaca Graduation. I wish I had found it sooner during my daughter's college days in Ithaca! The house is very well equipped and maintained. It is not a huge house, but a perfect size. there were 4 of us and it was quite comfortable. The outside fire pit is a nice touch and we sat outside overlooking the lake. The views are just beautiful. The house is high quality. It has many extras, such as gas fireplace in the family room & a Jacuzzi in the master. There is a walkway/stairway to the lake, (It may be too steep for an elderly person) but perfectly fine for us. It was too cold to swim, but the water looks very clean. We did lay on the deck and absorb the sun.You can also take a walk along the lake for a bit. Provided are towels, linens, spices. I would definitely return. It is away from the traffic of Ithaca, but close enough to go to town and make the graduation on time! (on a 10-15 mins form the campus). We toured vineyards on Cayuga and found Pumpkin Farm Bistro for lunch. Overall a great weekend, Thank you Jennifer!"
