  • Family Vacation

"Our family of 15 people (3 generations) enjoyed our stay at Hayes Hideaway. The house was clean and well maintained, and the listing photos were an accurate depiction of the rooms. The owner was very responsive to our needs, bringing us items to make our stay more comfortable. The new bathroom upstairs was great! The kayaks and rowboat were fun to use, and this lakefront property had plenty of outdoor areas to enjoy, including the beautiful landscaped areas. I would recommend this house to other people, except for people who might have mobility issues, because of its location on a hillside."

  • Great house for a large group on the lake!!

"This was the second time we spent a week at this house for Thanksgiving. Each year my family and I decide where to spend Thanksgiving so we aren't as stressed doing it all the "right" way at home, with matching china, ironed cloth napkins, super clean house, lit candles, the whole shebang! Going elsewhere relieves a lot of tension from my mom and I, who would do most all the work, and allows us the chance to really relax. We love that there is only one tv; eliminates people wandering off into their own rooms to veg out and watch something. There are plenty of games that we play as a family, including Taboo Junior (which I can't seem to find anywhere in Rochester-lol). The two full baths accommodate all of us. The bedrooms are cozy and comfortable. We have managed both years to seat about 8-11 people for a Thanksgiving meal. There are plenty of dishes and serving platters/bowls for our needs. Even without a dishwasher, we manage to get the guys involved by rotating the dish washing and no one really complains! The view is wonderful in the morning. We turn the "patio" furniture around to face the lake and watch the morning ducks and birds over coffee and banana bread. We have no problem washing the linens and towels before we leave. I think it keeps the cost down for everyone. Tim has always responded to my emails and/or questions in a timely manner. We really enjoy this home and all it has to offer and would definitely visit again!"
