  • The most amazing hidden gem!

"We stayed at the cabin with our family for our marriage at the Aurora Inn. The stay could not have been more perfect. From the moose head in the living room to the carefully stacked wood near the fire pit to the lakeside view that is breathtaking, it is an all around private gem of an escape that is hard to find these days. Steve was such a wonderful host and made sure our stay was perfect from day one. The rooms are very comfortable and it was very clean. Great for large families wanting an escape that is filled with nature, gathering by the fire and making memories for a lifetime. 5 stars from start to finish!"

  • Great graduation weekend

"We recently rented both the carriage house and the historic church, sharing the property with another family, for Cornell graduation weekend. The location and property were perfect for all of us to be able to gather and celebrate. Plenty of room and gorgeous outdoor areas!"

  • Nice vacation spot for two small families

"We had a great time staying at this house by Taughannock State Park. All the other comments on here are correct, but I wanted to add a few things that I would have liked to have known prior to staying here. 1. The house is very close to the road. The main photo on the site here is taken right from the edge of the driveway and Route 89. For some reason I was expecting this to be a quiet spot, set back from the road, but if you are there in the summer, prepare for traffic noise, trucks, motorcycles, etc. It was loud. Also, despite only being 4/10 of a mile from the State Park, due to the speed of the traffic and shoulder width, walking there seems a bit foolhardy. 2. At least half of the windows downstairs don't open either due to them being built that way, or simply being broken. It wasn't possible to get a cross breeze, so it's a bit warm in the house. It would have been nice to have a few more fans available. There are three "vornado-style" plus a very small desk fan. Besides that, it's very well equipped, the beds are VERY comfortable and it is a great location for getting to Ithaca/Taughannock, etc. While I'm not sure we'd stay here again, it is definitely worth a look. The owners were great, and even turned us on to some Chanterelles in the backyard!"

  • Great Vacation Cottage on the Sandy Beach!

"My family and I had a wonderful time at this cottage in Sodus Point. The cottage itself is very clean and tidy, very comfortable and has a beautiful large enclosed porch facing the big sandy back yard that leads to the lake. There is a large dinning room table and lots of comfortable seating on the porch. There is a back deck that is large and is always shaded in the hot afternoons. The cottage is mostly shaded so it does not get to hot and there are ceiling fans throughout to help keep it cool on hot days. The location of this cottage is perfect. It is within walking distance to town and to the lighthouse and public beach where there is a play ground for small children. There are also some nice routes for cycling or for runners as you head out of town along the lake. Sunsets are beautiful and campfires are fun on the beach. I would recommend water shoes for swimming as there are some rocks you have to walk over as you get into the water. The owner was very helpful answering my questions and took the time to ask me if our stay was satisfactory after we had left. It's fun for all ages, our ages ranged from 3 years old, a teenager, 20's, 40's and 60's. It was such a joy to have our family together in a place we all enjoyed being at. I would recommend this Beach Cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing family vacation."
