"This is our 6th year renting a home on Keuka Lake and our search for the "perfect spot" is over! Southern Sails Cottage is everything and more that we were hoping for. We were 8 adults and 5 children ranging in age from 3 months to 10 years old. Every family unit had a private bedroom and bath which is virtually unheard of. My personal family of 5 had the very private walkout basement area. We were able to spread out, every child had their own cozy sleeping quarters and Mom and Dad were happy with the King bed! Sometimes safety for toddlers is an issue but not here. There were gates and the deck was an oasis for the little ones while food was prepared and everyone relaxed. The beach area is wonderful as it is quite shallow which allowed for more relaxed play in and around the water and dock. We didn't want for anything inside the house. The kitchen is magnificent and much larger than it appears in the photos. We ate our meals outside which enabled the fun breakfast nook to be taken over with puzzles and arts and crafts. We didn't need to use the office but it would definitely be a bonus for someone who needed to work while on vacation (sorry if you have to do this!). The kids and adults all utilized the awesome kayaks and canoes and for the first time we felt very safe letting the big kids explore a little further than usual due to the friendly neighbors and the ease to get in and out of the water. Our only challenge was parking our pontoon boat as there was limited tie up space but we made it work with just a little extra effort. The proximity to Hammondsport, The Switz, The Olney Store, and several produce stands was perfect. The communication with the owner was perfect and we felt very prepared walking into the home. Cannot say enough how grateful we are to have had the chance to rent this home!"

"Our family spent Easter weekend at this awesome home! My husband & I with our four children, my parents, and my sister were all very comfortable & were blown away by the vintage charm of this home. Wide plank floors, beautiful vintage buffets & armoires greeted us, - lovely decor all around...yet not at all stuffy & incredibly family friendly. I wanted to pick this house up & take it with me.
The house was incredibly clean. When we arrived everything was fresh & inviting. And, everything you can need is provided including towels & sheets...which is plus - less stuff to pack! In addition the kitchen is well stocked with all the equipment you could possibly need for cooking in and there were plenty of paper supplies such as toilet paper & paper towels as well.
There is a knock-out view of the lake! There's an incredible front porch with plenty of porch seating. It was pretty cold the weekend we were there. (The lake was still mostly frozen and we woke up to snow on Easter Sunday!) So, we didn't get to utilize the porch nearly as much as we would have liked. But, in warmer weather, we're sure you would spend a lot of time there.
The bedrooms are nice and large. And, the downstairs also has plenty of space to spread out in. The only downside is that there is limited 'lounge around' seating. It would have been nice to have another couch or so. But, we made up for it in spending a lot of time at either the dining room or kitchen tables playing cards & other games.
We've stayed many places in the years that we've been visiting the Fingerlakes. And, this is definitely one of our favorites. And, the off season rate was just fantastic. We'll be back for sure!"

"We have a good time. Lots of fishing and visits to The Crooked Lake Ice Cream Parlor, Bully Hill for peanut butter pie, several wineries, and every antique shop we could find. The cottage was just the right size for our family of four and our dog. The dog loved the porch and spent hours napping on it. The view was fantastic whether looking out the living room picture window or from the porch. Thank you for sharing your cottage and allowing it to be pet friendly."

"This is our third time renting this lovely property. It is very clean, well equipped and quiet. We had 13 ladies staying at the house and had plenty of room. It is secluded and may seem out of the way, but the view of the lake and the quality of the rental is worth it! If you like to cook in to save money for meals out, this is the place for you. The owner has it well stocked with a hot tub, TV, games, toys, etc. The sunsets are awesome! We are planning to make this an annual event."
