  • Great place for a relaxing lake side holiday.....and no mosquitos.

"This lovely cottage was as advertised. It is cozy, comfortable with a beautiful view. There were four adults in our party and felt as though this place accommodated us perfectly. While located off the main road the cottage built below road level. We did not hear any traffic noises at all. We enjoyed kayaking and visiting some of the wineries in the area. We have a dog who is active so we were able to take care of her needs by taking long walks in various state parks in the area. The lake water is clear, clean and deep for swimming, diving, or as a part of the scenery that the view from the cottage provides. The owners live right next door and are very nice. The evenings were so perfect in that sitting out was a pleasure because there were no mosquitos. The stars at night were spectacular. This was our first time visiting the Finger Lakes and it is a trip we will remember for a long time."

  • Mark D.

"This is a very nice place. We have been going to lake Keuka for 15 years and this is a great place to stay. Close to town, spacious, well kept, and very nice people to deal with. It is very near the boat ramp if you are bringing a boat for the week. The fishing is great! I would highly recommend it."

  • Fabulous Large Vintage Charmer at a Great Price

"Our family spent Easter weekend at this awesome home! My husband & I with our four children, my parents, and my sister were all very comfortable & were blown away by the vintage charm of this home. Wide plank floors, beautiful vintage buffets & armoires greeted us, - lovely decor all around...yet not at all stuffy & incredibly family friendly. I wanted to pick this house up & take it with me. The house was incredibly clean. When we arrived everything was fresh & inviting. And, everything you can need is provided including towels & sheets...which is plus - less stuff to pack! In addition the kitchen is well stocked with all the equipment you could possibly need for cooking in and there were plenty of paper supplies such as toilet paper & paper towels as well. There is a knock-out view of the lake! There's an incredible front porch with plenty of porch seating. It was pretty cold the weekend we were there. (The lake was still mostly frozen and we woke up to snow on Easter Sunday!) So, we didn't get to utilize the porch nearly as much as we would have liked. But, in warmer weather, we're sure you would spend a lot of time there. The bedrooms are nice and large. And, the downstairs also has plenty of space to spread out in. The only downside is that there is limited 'lounge around' seating. It would have been nice to have another couch or so. But, we made up for it in spending a lot of time at either the dining room or kitchen tables playing cards & other games. We've stayed many places in the years that we've been visiting the Fingerlakes. And, this is definitely one of our favorites. And, the off season rate was just fantastic. We'll be back for sure!"

  • A wonderful place for a family vacation!!

"Our family stayed here for a week long vacation in late June. You could not have asked for a more beautiful place!!--it has a huge lawn with lots of outdoor games, lots of outdoor seating of all types. It makes it easy to feel relaxed with such a large, wide open and beautiful yard space. There is a very nice beach with large canopy and lots of chairs so you have the option to be in the sun or right next to the beach or under the canopy if you prefer shade or it rains. The house is beautifully furnished with lots of personal touches so that it doesn't feel at all like a rental. Beds are very comfortable! Our favorite thing was having evening meals and evening chats in the cozy seating area outdoors on the large front deck. It has a perfect view of the lake because the house sits up on a hill next to the lake. You will find everything you need in the kitchen in terms of dishes and utensils. Our kids (aged 11 and 14) enjoyed using the boats (boating shoes recommended), and we rented a speed boat (brand new, from a marina about 8 minutes drive from the house) one day for tubing. The water was the perfect temperature in a warm day! There are several restaurants on the water where you can stop and eat while boating (we had a great lunch at one). There are also lots and lots of great wineries on this lake. Rooster Hill winery is only 5 minutes walk from the house, and we went there several times. After searching, we found that Arbor Hill winery on Seneca lake (right next to Keuka) has several types of sparkling juices that our kids loved. If you are heading to the area, this is a lovely place to stay! You are about 30 minutes from Corning and 30 minutes from Watkins Glen (in the opposite direction), which are both worth visiting. Mary and her husband were super hosts and very warm and helpful (e.g., tips on restaurants, informational brochures on area activities, etc.), and the year round neighbors were also very friendly. We would come here every year if we could!"
