  • glorious week at the lake!

"this beautiful log cabin style home has it all -- gorgeous lake views, fun adirondak style decorating, and wonderful outdoor seating scenarios. the house is clean, neat, and spacious; the outdoor setting is unbelievable --- you can chose to sit on the deck over the boathouse, the patio, the enclosed porch, or the stone pavement at lake level. there is even a private deck off the master bedroom, and a darling boat house that serves as an extra bedroom with its own bath, and deck. the owners were a pleasure to deal with, and were very responsive to our needs. i can't imagine a better place to vacation than this wonderful location."

  • A nice cabin, beautiful dock area, fantastic hot tub.... recommended!

"The cabin was nice and fairly new, we had a great time. Excellent climate control, everything that you need as far as kitchen equipment and supplies. Not a huge cabin and not much closet space, but mostly adequate. An excellent owner, and they will make sure that everything is in order for you. A couple nice places to boat to close by, be sure to hit the Switzerland on Sunday afternoon for an outside band on the deck with drinks and appetizers. It's directly across and slightly right, look for the green umbrellas. To the right of your dock and down by the point, look across for the Lakeside, nice outdoor dining and good food with a band playing. A couple oh by the ways, the hot tub is 165 steps down the hill, the dock at least another 165. The picture kinda leads you to believe that its next to the cabin, this would be an issue if you were older. This is no cheezy hot tub, but a really nice, large tub with a lot of jets in a gazebo. There is no place to park bigger than a 16' boat trailer and it's on a narrow dead end street with no turn around, plan to park at the State Park and leave your trailer ($7), a 6 mile boat ride back. Penn Yan has a free launch but $5 to park and its 11 miles away. 5 miles away is another launch, but $25 and they have to launch it for you. This cabin has a narrow driveway and semi-difficult to maneuver, don't plan to take your boat to the cabin to unload, it may not be possible. Bring lots of boat fenders for the guest dock, the lake is rough on the weekends and the paint on my boat got hammered. The cabin livingroom is pretty small, probably 7' x the width of the cabin with a really small TV on cable. The diningroom table is missing, the picnic table is in the eating area which is an enclosed porch but nice. You'll not find the fan control in the living room, its behind the china closet. Lighting is really bad, especially in the dining area and master bedroom. The exercise equipment in the ad does not exist, but hey, you're on vacation. A better description of the cabin is a 2 level + loft, not 3 stories as the ad says. I must say that everything was clean and well kept. The closest gas station is about 6 miles away by the State Park, they only accept cash. Penn Yan is 11 miles away and the closest place for supplies. Over all, I don't regret our decision to stay there and we had a great time. Plan to spend your nice evenings at the dock, in the lower yard around the fire pit, or soaking in the hot tub."

  • First time

"This was our first time using VRBO and the first time in the Finger Lakes region. We had a great trip. The apartment was comfortable for 2 people (would be tight for 4) and had everything we needed. We loved the front porch relaxing with a glass of wine and got to meet some of the other (long term) apartment residents, who were very friendly and helpful. Hammondsport was a cute town and has the best ice cream shop. We used Hammondsport as a home base to go to: Corning Glass Works; Taughannock Falls State Park; Watkins Glen State Park; Robert Treman State Park; Glen Curtiss Museum; Letchworth State Park; Bully Hill, Heron Hill, and Dr. Frank wineries. In between outings, we shopped the cute stores in town (very easy town to walk everywhere) and swam in the lake. Loved it!"

  • Great family weekend away

"I grew up on Keuka Lake and over the last few years have made a point to spend an extended weekend with my family on this Lake. Of the 5 Major Finger Lakes, this is certainly the most family/child safe, and cleanest of them all. The process was easy to book and the owners were extremely hospitable. We had the fortune to meet them and they were very kind throughout our stay. With regard to the cottage itself, all I will say is the kids still have not stopped talking about this particular stay on the lake. There was more than enough space for a family of five, it was well cared for, and offered lots of activities for everyone. The cottage comes equipped with wi-fi, Kayaks, a canoe, and rowboat. On the beach was a fire pit, picnic tables, deck chairs, dock, and gas grill as well as complete use of water shoes and life jackets. My daughters were proud of themselves for kayaking for the first time, and my older son, a good family friend and myself made the trek across the lake and back in the kayaks. For anyone not interested in water sports, within a few miles are several locally owned wineries available for tours and tastings. I believe we have finally found the place we will be using for all future trips to Keuka Lake. I can't recommend this place enough!"
