"I just stayed for nearly a week at this wonderful spot. The location is ideal for everything Elmira has to offer. The house is super close to town and the college, and most ideally backs up to the Chemung river with miles of walkways and open property to enjoy as your own. The space is surprisingly large and fully modern kitchen, bath with a great office setup and fully appointed desk in the living room. A super comfortable large King bed made for a completely relaxing and enjoyable home base while I was in town. Richard and Gail are gracious hosts and offer great advice for where to eat, and what to see in Elmira. I will be back often for each and every visit to the college. Far superior to any hotel offering in town."

"We just returned from a long weekend at Heron Hideaway. This was my first experience with VRBO and I'm impressed; all we had to do was show up and enjoy ourselves! The house was exactly as pictured and the owners left no detail undone. Everyone had something to do from my 80 year old Mother who lives at Parkwood Heights, only a five mile drive away, to my 25 year old who went wine tasting and exploring. We all enjoyed fishing in the pond and the fire pit at night. The house is a gem and the only thing we didn't like was leaving!
We enjoyed great local restaurants and a cook out on the beautiful deck. Thanks so much Sally and Gard we can't wait to return!"

"This charming house easily fit 10+ adults for much needed downtime. Very close to Ithaca yet far enough away to be surrounded by open fields with a countryside feeling. The house came stocked with a couple of starter items in the kitchen/refrigerator, which was a pleasant surprise. The rooms were spacious and charming. The dining room table was large with plenty of seats. Outdoor patio area was a nice place to sit and relax in the afternoons. Would recommend this place as a base to stay for a couple of days to enjoy the many wineries and activities in the area. We stayed for a weekend but wished we could have stayed an extra day or two."

"We (two of us) stayed two nights and were delighted with Sargent House. There is plenty of room for two people, with a good sized kitchen space and room to actually use the comfortable chairs in the main room/bedroom for reading and relaxing. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen had all the necessary accessories and everything in the apartment was clean and well-maintained. We used it as a base for doing several things in the southern Finger Lakes area so we didn't take advantage of lazing on the porch, but we certainly see the appeal. We really appreciated the convenience of good restaurants right down the street. The Bakery has fantastic coffee and baked goods and dinner at Union Block Bistro was excellent. Dinner at Luna Mezza was only so-so. It was also fun to look around the interesting shops and galleries in the center of town, again just a few steps from Sargent House.
Communications with Judy were excellent, and she was very kindly flexible with our checkout because no one else was coming in the night we left. We highly recommend this place for a couple or a small family."
