"This was the 2nd year our group of 13 traveled to the Finger Lakes for a weekend wine tour. Last year we stayed in a hotel, but this year we decided to try the house rental route. I can safely say that our stay at Wood and Water has now spoiled us for all future trips to wine country, and that hotel stays will be a thing of the past for us.
The property proved to be just as it was advertised. Lots of room.... the bedrooms were all good size. Nice kitchen and a big family room that has spectacular views of the lake. We especially enjoyed having multiple areas to relax outside.... the main deck off the house, the second deck halfway down the hill, the beach / campfire area at the water's edge, and the dock out on the water.
Lisa was prompt and responsive to all of our inquiries leading up to our stay, and she was very clear about laying out the expectations for guest behavior.
We all had a great time. I feel quite sure this will not be our last stay at this property."

"My husband and I spent an enjoyable and very relaxing 2 night/3 day stay at Camp Hoople this past June.
With the lake below us and the woods all around, the cabin was surrounded by nature and wildlife. We saw herons, heard owls and other birds, watched the sunset, heard distant thunder and rain, and just listened to the quiet. It was so peaceful and relaxing! The cottage itself was comfortable, spotless and well equipped. The screened in porch was a huge hit - I didn't want to leave it! We loved our stay and are looking forward to our next visit!"

"The description of this home and property is not exaggerated. It was very comfortable for 6 adults and an infant and could have accommodated more people easily. Each family had their own full bathroom, which made it nice. We had plenty of room to entertain local family members who visited us. The kids were especially thrilled with the hot tub, but the adults got their share of enjoyment out of it, too. Everything we needed was provided in this lovely home, but Watkins Glen was only 10 minutes away if we wanted anything. The new Grist Iron Brewery opened almost across the street on Route 414 and having that so close was a bonus. Of course wineries abound in the area, too. Guests should be aware that you do have to travel about 1/4 mile down a gravel road to get to the home, so vehicles with good ground clearance are the best to use while staying at the house. Regular vehicles can work ok as long as you go very slowly over the speed bump.
There was plenty of room both indoors and out with a huge private lot, deck and a porch. A boat launch was mentioned as an amenity, but you would need to get more info about that from the owner. We didn't find anything usable for that purpose, but we didn't have a boat, either.
The AC was very welcome since we were there during a hot weather week. Nights cooled down to comfortable temperatures, so breakfast on the porch was very pleasant. There were great lake views from one of the upstairs bedrooms and peek-a-boo views between the trees from the lower levels. However, the sunset views were spectacular.
The only downside was the extra fee we had to pay for cleaning. Not sure why that wasn't included in the price.
I would highly recommend this home for a wonderful Finger Lakes vacation."

"My brother , my best friend and myself spent the most relaxing week at "Taste of Serenity" cottage. We found it perfectly equipped and cozy . We made use of the several kayaks , canoe and rowboat . Mike and Kathy are such accommodating hosts . They were a plethora of knowledge about the local area from the wineries to local night life to scenic destinations. I will be definitely returning with my wife for another "getaway"! I highly recommend this destination as the stress level is absolute zero!"
