"We were pleased with the Railcar as soon as we pulled up, and once we saw the dock, we were even more pleased! Sipping coffee in the early morning on the dock, while watching the mist move across the lake and listening to the fish jump, was my favorite part of the whole trip! The pictures were spot-on, and the railcar could definitely accommodate for 8+ people. Yes, the hallways are narrow, but it's a RAILCAR! We found everything we needed (yes, my husband found the TV remote and was able to watch his News. LOL) and there were plenty of blankets for the cold nights and games for the whole family. The owners are very nice and accommodating, and are willing to answer any questions you may have before, during, and after your stay! Skaneateles Lake is GORGEOUS!"

"One of my favorite things about this property was the remote, secluded location and the wonderful "homey" decor inside. It feels like home away from home, very clean and well-maintained-everything labelled to make it easier. The loft area is so neat for the kids, we have epic ping pong tournaments in the basement, listened to music using the outdoor speakers, and cooked some awesome meals on the grill. There are TV's in every room (but who wants to be indoors!) The stairs down to the water are easy to manage but maybe not for anyone unsteady on their feet or elderly. It's a mini workout to come back up the stairs ; ) The road to get to the property seems precarious but i don't have 4 wheel drive on my car and i didn't have a problem at all! They had anything we needed on site, even an extra full fridge downstairs!!-just bring your own towels and confirm check-out time so you can be out before the housekeeper shows up, ooppss : ) and bring some wood for the campfire : )
Can't wait to come back again : )"

"Hi Nick, just wanted to let you know we had a wonderful time at the lake house, our family made some wonderful, unforgettable memories. The house is great for a large family it is so spacious that no one got in anyone's way. Access to the lake is amazing, the water is so clean and clear. Our husband's and kids love to fish and they caught fish everyday even off the dock. We loved how open the main level was and we could all sit and eat together in the kitchen. Althou the kitchen could use a bit of updating like some new cookie sheets and baking pans because if you wanted to bake anything the pans there are not really good they were rusted. You definitely could use a new set of knifes there are no sharp one's. Also the water pressure in the kitchen sink was not good but if you used the sprayer the water pressure in that was good hmm didn't make sense. The upstairs master bedroom was ok but the bathroom needs better lighting and in the shower the water pools to one side which is not very sanitary it seems that the shower is unlevel, you should have at least a squeegee to push the water in the drain. It would have been nice to have a tv in the 2nd master bedroom also seeing they are really in expensive today a 40" tv @ walmart is less than $300.00 not that we were there to watch tv but when you go to bed you can watch a little tv and unwind before you go to sleep. I must say you had all the outside and inside games anyone could ask for. Our kids loved the pool table and ping pong table but the ping pong table & paddle's were in bad shape. I hope you fixed the air conditioning thank goodness it wasn't really hot and we did bring our fans with us. One more thing seeing you do not provide any wood for the fire pit you should at least no someone who would sell a face cord of wood that we could have called. We did the leg work and found a guy who delivered a face cord of wood for $70.00 which I would have paid you if you provided it. With all this said we still had a blast and I would rent from you again now knowing what I would need to bring thank you again for letting us make beautiful family memories that we will cherish forever. Thanks Again for sharing your lake house with us. Kim"

"We had a wonderful family vacation at this Skaneateles Lake retreat. Our hosts, Janet and John, were very gracious. The lake was beautiful. We particularly enjoyed morning and evening kayak and canoe excursions. The accommodations were extremely clean and the cottage very cozy.
The location is excellent for easy day trips to some beautiful state parks. Would recommend Watkins Glen, Taughannock Falls and Chimney Bluffs in particular. They are beautiful and within easy distance of the "Camp." And a more picturesque Finger Lakes town than Skaneateles would be hard to come by.
We are looking forward to a return visit!!
