  • Perfect R&R place!

"This cottage is shagri-la for anyone who wants a feeling of privacy in a beautiful place while still being a short mile drive to the village for convenience. The trees surrounding the property give one a feeling of seclusion and serenity, and a short walk down the drive will bring you to your own private waterfront area with your own dock, and beach chairs to sit on whilst reading or just enjoying the ambience this lake provides. I've rented several camps/cottages on Skaneateles, and this one is now far and away my favorite: reasonable rates, friendly--yet not intrusive--owners, everything you need in the way of kitchen supplies, and it's CLEAN! A couple I've rented haven't been, so this is a big plus! The best part, for me, is the lake itself: Skaneateles simply can't be beat for clean, clear water for swimming, boating, fishing. This time of year--late Sept./early Oct.--is great for a drive through the countryside, and if you take one, check out the Navarino Orchard, whether to pick some apples or just visit the store. It's very pretty and relaxing there, as well. All in all, I just can't wait to go back and stay in this cottage again next year. See you then, folks! And thanks for providing a wonderful place : )"

  • Incredible Wedding Weekend!

"We came here as a group for a friends wedding, which was in the area, for the weekend. We arrived on Thursday evening and departed on Sunday afternoon. What a place! The house is situated right on the lake. Literally on the lake. There is a dock that you can walk out on which must be about 80 feet long. The place has endless character. From the paintings and decorations to just the overall feel of the place. We sat outside one night in the rain, on the covered porch in rocking chairs. We woke up each morning and built a fire around the fire pit, down by the waters edge enjoying a cup of coffee. There is a huge living room with plenty of seats/couches to sit around. There is also a great downstairs with a bar, ping-pong table, pool table and couches/fire place. There is also a bathroom down there too. The bedrooms are neat and accommodating. I didn't want to get up and out because they were so comfortable. We played golf one day, as there were a few places very close by. Additionally, some of the group went to a vineyard, which was just down the block. At one point or another we all made it into town, which was only about a 5-7 minute drive. The house was in an ideal central location but still hidden and private. We had ZERO problems while we were there. The owner is a great guy and I would strongly recommend this place for a short or long trip during any season. I know a group of us will be back again to this very house because we enjoyed it so much. We are grateful to the owner for sharing this wonderful place with others."

  • Wonderful week at a very special lakeside retreat

"We had a wonderful family vacation at this Skaneateles Lake retreat. Our hosts, Janet and John, were very gracious. The lake was beautiful. We particularly enjoyed morning and evening kayak and canoe excursions. The accommodations were extremely clean and the cottage very cozy. The location is excellent for easy day trips to some beautiful state parks. Would recommend Watkins Glen, Taughannock Falls and Chimney Bluffs in particular. They are beautiful and within easy distance of the "Camp." And a more picturesque Finger Lakes town than Skaneateles would be hard to come by. We are looking forward to a return visit!! The Duhamels"
