  • Outstanding Family Vacation

"After many employment years in the hospitality industry, I can honestly say the guest satisfaction of my family was a "10"(out of 10). Owners Martha and Scott have a true Gem here. Being only 100 miles from our home town in Clarence, we were so amazed that this paradise could exist. Our two boys(15 and 8) had one of the best times on a vacation in recent memory. Fishing, camping, kayaking, motor boating, hot tub, Fishing, rock collecting and swimming have made this trip not one to forget. Our family of 4 really had an opportunity to re-connect. We didn't allow them any electronics while on the trip(the best thing we ever did) and we all focused on outdoor things. I caught a 16"(8 pound bass)-never cleaned a fish before in my life, but afterwards we cooked it and all agreed it was the best tasting fish we had ever had.(even more so than fresh sea bass that we pay $26.00 a pound for). The propry is as advertised with no surprises. The only negative would be of the old mattresses (clean..but not comfortable) but it is camping and it certainly beat a sleeping bag with an air mattress. Scott and Martha thank you so much for a trip that we will remember for a long time. We are already thinking about a trip for next summer, but hoprfully longer than just the weekend we stayed."

  • A 3 day, mid-week stay

"An English cottage garden is what you think of when you view this property from the front yard. Hollyhocks, Shasta Daisies, Bachelor Buttons and more fill the front yard instead of your traditional lawn. I was impressed that everywhere we walked, we saw equally impressive gardens around town. We visited the Farmer's Market on Wednesday afternoon and were even more impressed with the work of gardeners with their variety of produce! It seems as though everything is within walking distance, depending on your level of ability. We did our share of walking just around town and at the nearby parks. There is no reason not to go outdoors and find something to do. We saw the "big" lighthouse and museum and the smaller "working" lighthouse by the Sodus Point Beach Park. The beach park is a great place to go with the family and have a picnic lunch. There was a huge shelter with plenty of picnic tables to go around. If you like to fish, there is plenty of room along the break-wall to park yourself and spend a pleasant day. There are plenty of places to eat as well in the Business District. We had lunch at Abe's Waterfront upon our arrival. We loved the lobster bisque! My greek salad with chicken was large and fulfilling! We also had dinner at The Bay Street Hotel. The food there is Caribbean based. My dinner had a nice spicy little kick to it, but delicious. If you are into martinis, be prepared to read a "book" to find one you like! It's insane and insanely good! There are plenty of things to do within a reasonable drive from here as well. There is Chimney Bluffs State Park, which we did not get to. If you are staying over the weekend during the summer, the Sterling Renaissance Festival is only a 45 minute drive away. Our host was a very pleasant and helpful gentleman and an avid gardener. Our accommodations were more than adequate! We had everything we needed in a very clean and comfortable environment. There was even a large grill in the backyard you can use to cook your lunch or dinner. Just make yourself at home. Our stay was low key and relaxing....your mileage may vary!"

  • Soooo quiet and relaxing!

"Myself, my boyfriend, and his daughter stayed at Quiet Waters in mid-July 2014 - what a wonderful stay! The cabin is updated and was very roomy for the 3 of us. The weather was beautiful, not too hot! So quiet, with the exception of the frogs and squirrels at play! We were only about 12 miles from Sodus Point where you can find a couple of great little eateries as well as a beachfront area. Helluva Good is not far and Webster and Rochester are just a 1/2 hour to 40 min away and we were not far from our hometowns so several friends and family were able to come see us and enjoy some great BBQ's on the deck! If you're looking to get away and just kick back and relax, Quiet Waters is the place! The Traister's were very easy to work with too .... good times, thank you so much for sharing your cottage with us!"

  • Quaint Cottage on the Lake

"I rented this cottage for a weekend reunion of friends and by the end everyone was thanking me for finding such an amazing place and asking if we can do it all again next year at the same cottage. Stunning view of the lake from living room as well as the master bedroom and you will spend hours on the back deck taking it all in from there as well. If you're lucky you'll have gorgeous sunset to stare at during the evening. Walk right down to the lake through the backyard. Make a fire in the fire pit. Grill some dinner on the gas grill out on the front deck. Star gaze while laying in the empty field next door. My friends an I were so busy enjoying the cottage and each others company that we didn't have enough time to do all the activities that Jan, the wonderful owner, had mentioned upon arrival. There are some trails very close by to explore as well a small bay to explore by kayak. Also, a nice beach a few more miles down by the larger Sodus Bay. There is a site manager a few doors down the road in case you have any problems or questions, which we did not. When it's time for bed you'll have plenty of cozy sleeping options. We fit 7 friends comfortably and the cost split between everyone was one of the best deals I've ever come across. It would still be a good deal and perfect place for a couple, or a family. I could go on and on but you just have to experience it for yourself. You won't be disappointed."
