"We desperately needed to get away for down time and the Sodus Lotus was a great choice! The apartment was clean and well maintained. Charles and Esther were gracious, helpful and very accommodating. We rested a lot and enjoyed a fire one night in their outside
room. It was a lovely starry night and the late night talk by the fire was fun!
We also enjoyed our hike at Chimney Bluff State Park experiencing the smells and crunch of autumn leaves. We bought crisp apples at a farm stand and enjoyed eating at the Alton Coffee Cup.
We are grateful for the restful time away and hope to return."

"My family of four (two adults to children) stayed for a week over the memorial holiday to attend a family reunion.
There are many pros of this house, which include:
1. Ability to house lots of guests
2. Location to two playgrounds, marina, boat harbor, and shops
However, I gave it 4 stars because while it is in a very centralized location, it is opposite a loud bar that played LOUD 80's rock music until 1-2am every night. The music floated across the boat harbor and directly into the house. Even with ear plugs and white noise (fans), the walls reverberated with the music. We could not get to sleep all week before 1am.
That said, the manager was very gracious and quick to rely to txts, questions, and needs. The place is stocked with kitchen supplies, but don't expect to find any spices or toiletries.
Most everything is a bit shabby and worn. However, for the price it was reasonable."

"After many employment years in the hospitality industry, I can honestly say the guest satisfaction of my family was a "10"(out of 10). Owners Martha and Scott have a true Gem here. Being only 100 miles from our home town in Clarence, we were so amazed that this paradise could exist. Our two boys(15 and 8) had one of the best times on a vacation in recent memory. Fishing, camping, kayaking, motor boating, hot tub, Fishing, rock collecting and swimming have made this trip not one to forget. Our family of 4 really had an opportunity to re-connect. We didn't allow them any electronics while on the trip(the best thing we ever did) and we all focused on outdoor things. I caught a 16"(8 pound bass)-never cleaned a fish before in my life, but afterwards we cooked it and all agreed it was the best tasting fish we had ever had.(even more so than fresh sea bass that we pay $26.00 a pound for).
The propry is as advertised with no surprises. The only negative would be of the old mattresses (clean..but not comfortable) but it is camping and it certainly beat a sleeping bag with an air mattress. Scott and Martha thank you so much for a trip that we will remember for a long time. We are already thinking about a trip for next summer, but hoprfully longer than just the weekend we stayed."
