  • Good times at Sodus bay

"Another great vacation at Sodus. This house was more than we expected, clean, comfortable, and a great location.Dock was big enough for our boats> 18ft fish and ski>16ftfishing boat and a 24ft pontoon. The neighbors Vic and Cindy were very nice and did everything they could to make our vacation enjoyable. I look forward to seeing them again next year. The mattresses need replaced on the small beds and the couches or I would give this place an excellent rateing but over all this place was fantastic, we loved it.Close to town for a short walk or bike ride to Captain Jacks and other nice places to eat or get an ice cream cone. The fishing was awesome if you fish for bass.If you are looking for a nice place to stay this is the one. This place had everything we had hoped for."

  • Excellent vacation

"This lovely, spacious home on Sodus Bay provided everything we wanted for our family vacation. There was plenty of room for all of us, 11 total. We brought two boats that fit easily at the dock. The view from the deck was perfect for watching the sun rise and provided a gathering place for all to relax. We made use of the grill for outdoor cooking and the well stocked kitchen provided the rest. Everyone was comfortable with enough bedrooms and bathrooms. The beach front fire pit provided evening entertainment and it was a great place to sit and watch the boats go by on the bay. Can't say enough about how wonderful our week was. This is a truly lovely place to spend time. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you Marji and Jim for sharing this great space!"

  • A 3 day, mid-week stay

"An English cottage garden is what you think of when you view this property from the front yard. Hollyhocks, Shasta Daisies, Bachelor Buttons and more fill the front yard instead of your traditional lawn. I was impressed that everywhere we walked, we saw equally impressive gardens around town. We visited the Farmer's Market on Wednesday afternoon and were even more impressed with the work of gardeners with their variety of produce! It seems as though everything is within walking distance, depending on your level of ability. We did our share of walking just around town and at the nearby parks. There is no reason not to go outdoors and find something to do. We saw the "big" lighthouse and museum and the smaller "working" lighthouse by the Sodus Point Beach Park. The beach park is a great place to go with the family and have a picnic lunch. There was a huge shelter with plenty of picnic tables to go around. If you like to fish, there is plenty of room along the break-wall to park yourself and spend a pleasant day. There are plenty of places to eat as well in the Business District. We had lunch at Abe's Waterfront upon our arrival. We loved the lobster bisque! My greek salad with chicken was large and fulfilling! We also had dinner at The Bay Street Hotel. The food there is Caribbean based. My dinner had a nice spicy little kick to it, but delicious. If you are into martinis, be prepared to read a "book" to find one you like! It's insane and insanely good! There are plenty of things to do within a reasonable drive from here as well. There is Chimney Bluffs State Park, which we did not get to. If you are staying over the weekend during the summer, the Sterling Renaissance Festival is only a 45 minute drive away. Our host was a very pleasant and helpful gentleman and an avid gardener. Our accommodations were more than adequate! We had everything we needed in a very clean and comfortable environment. There was even a large grill in the backyard you can use to cook your lunch or dinner. Just make yourself at home. Our stay was low key and relaxing....your mileage may vary!"

  • Next to loud bar makes for little sleep

"My family of four (two adults to children) stayed for a week over the memorial holiday to attend a family reunion. There are many pros of this house, which include: 1. Ability to house lots of guests 2. Location to two playgrounds, marina, boat harbor, and shops However, I gave it 4 stars because while it is in a very centralized location, it is opposite a loud bar that played LOUD 80's rock music until 1-2am every night. The music floated across the boat harbor and directly into the house. Even with ear plugs and white noise (fans), the walls reverberated with the music. We could not get to sleep all week before 1am. That said, the manager was very gracious and quick to rely to txts, questions, and needs. The place is stocked with kitchen supplies, but don't expect to find any spices or toiletries. Most everything is a bit shabby and worn. However, for the price it was reasonable."
