  • Sweet Getaway

"We had a lovely time in this charming cottage! Modern but definitely with a lovely, antique feel. The yard has plenty of safe space for dogs to roam, and the sleeping cabin is one-of-a-kind with wonderful views from its little patio. Quiet dirt road, one car per day(?) yet close to everything. Highly recommend ."

  • CHARMING CABIN, GREAT HOST.

"This place is amazing! The house is beautiful, clean, full of details that make it unique. You can see that it has a soul. Tom was very accommodating, I HAD NO REASON TO CALL HIM SINCE EVERYTHING WAS IN ORDER AND IN THE SAID PLACE MENTIONED IN AGREEMENT. The nature around the house is amazing very quite, All of the beds are comfortable and big enough for adults. We also enjoyed the river that runs down the hill (the water was so clean and refreshing!), Our stay was wonderful and I would recommend this place to everybody without a shadow of a doubt! our family was well pleased. looking forward to visiting again soon. Thanks again, Tom!"

  • Perfect weekend getaway

"I wanted to surprise my husband on his birthday with a weekend getaway outside of the city. We invited a couple of friends to stay with us, and brought my aging Lab mix Willis. We arrived late on Friday night, and were blown away by the barn. Some of the original beams were kept and give the place a very warm, rustic feel. But the hot tub, sauna, spa shower downstairs, gaming systems, and tv were anything but! The place has the perfect balance of homey and modern. The wood floors and wood burning stove give the place a warm feel, and that modern chef's kitchen makes it easy to whip up a five star meal. The best surprise though was in the morning when we all got a look at the view for the first time. Amazing, picturesque picture windows all throughout the main floor - each more beautiful than the last. Freshly fallen snowscape, the sound of the creek trickling past the house - Willis had a blast trying to follow the animal tracks in the snow! We all had such a good time this weekend. We will definitely be coming back!"

  • Great Place for a Family Reunion

"Our family, with 6 adult couples, 3 additional adults, 3 little children and 2 babies rented this unit and the adjoining one with the same owner. We had 4 adult couples and 2 adults in this unit, with one adult in the den and another in a blowup bed in the living room -- not ideal, but it worked. The baby and one child shared a room with their parents, and two other small children had the double bed. The four bedrooms are spacious (one has only a double bed) and private. There are two outdoor showers, one adjoining a bedroom. There is also a pull-out couch in a small open den: the bed is fine, but the room is open so there's no privacy or sound insulation. The loft is really not useful for sleeping as it is accessed by a ladder and is very narrow and open to the double bed below: a fun place to play, maybe, but not safe for children to sleep and probably not comfortable for adults. Both houses were beautifully decorated, well appointed, and very clean. We asked and received extra cots, blow-up beds, cribs and high chairs. The kitchens were stocked with all sorts of appliances, pots and pans, dishes, cleaning supplies. The stove in 406384 was very high-end as was the barbecue grill. There was great seating for meals both inside and out. The docks had lovely seating as well. There were kayaks, canoes, a rowboat and a paddle boat. The lake was spectacular: the one downside is that you have to take a boat to a raft to access the water because there is too much vegetation and mud near the lake edge. The water at the raft was clear. We loved all the perennial plantings and made use of the vegetable gardens and blueberry bushes. Grocery shopping was a 20 minute drive, but there were a number of very nearby farm stands to get fresh corn, tomatoes, peaches, eggs, meat and other produce. We were pleasantly surprised that the bugs weren't too bad. We were able to eat dinner on the deck without even lighting the torches. During the day there were some gnats and we did use bug spray when we walked on the grass in the morning and evening. The rental agent was very helpful in answering our many questions and requisitioning extra beds. Overall, we highly recommend this house and its sister location."
