"For summer rental the pond is definitely the highlight. The picture doesn't describe this large weedless pond properly. Completely surrounded by woods on property that really has no visible neighbours this pond is the highlight of the rental. Air temp in August was low 80s and the surface water temp was probably mid 70s. Very cold a few feet deeper but that means you just have to float in comfort. The 2nd story south facing deck on the house was high enough to be bug free, catches the breeze and had a pleasing view of the big lawn and woods. Great for relaxing, dining or star gazing. Great Barrington is about 1/2 hour away which has the needed grocery stores (Guido's or the Co op), shopping, restaurants and a different hiking trail every day. Can't say much about the house because we spent most of the time outside. One drawback was that the TV had no cable or satellite reception but the wi fi was fast and reliable."

"This time last week I was at Barn On The Pond, sitting round the firepit with a group of friends roasting marshmallows under a giant full moon. The 9 of us had the Barn for about a week and it made for a perfect country getaway. It was easy to get to without a car from NYC (bus to kingston + cab) and we took plenty of groceries so that we didn't need to head into Woodstock or Saugerties unless we fancied dining out or takeaway pizza. One afternoon four of us sat in the secret alcove on the upper deck for 3 or 4 hours, lounging on pillows and drinking wine as cicadas buzzed and the sky gently changed from blue to orange to mauve to black. It's a memory that'll sustain me until the next time I'm there."

"My husband, sister and my niece spent a wonderful 5 days at the Red House. The house is incredible and offers everything you need for a comfortable, relaxing stay. The view of Lake George from the beautiful, large picture windows and the decks is fantastic. The cove is quiet and peaceful and we spent many mornings enjoying the peaceful calm while sipping on a cup of coffee. We took advantage of exploring the lake and the coastline from the kayaks that are provided, and enjoyed stargazing around the campfire at night. The hike to the rookery and lookout points, a quick walk from the cabin, was invigorating and fun, despite getting caught in a downpour! Marta, the owner, was extremely friendly and responsive to any questions that came up both before and during our stay. We hated to leave and will definitely be back!"

"The house was truly beautiful and unbelievably comfortable. The kitchen was a dream! The backyard was well-manicured and relaxing. We were located just a short drive to the track and downtown. Shanah was a terrific host which just added to this wonderful experience.
I would highly recommend a stay at this lovely home."
