  • Peaceful unique house in wonderful location

"We have stayed in this house 3 times now - in spring, summer and fall - and each time has been wonderful. The house has a lot of character and feels loved and lived in, but it is very comfortable with good heating, nice beds and linens etc. It has large dining tables both inside and on the porch, perfect for big long meals. It also has a really well equipped kitchen with a big 5 burner gas cooktop, double electric oven, espresso maker, lots of great pans etc. The porch has a nice view with the garden stepping down. There is a fireplace in the living room, and nice wood floors, and a beautiful grand piano. It is so quiet, you will only see one or two cars pass in the whole day, and barely an airplane in the sky. The air is wonderful, and stars very visible at night as there is no light pollution around. You can walk to Bear Hill which has a fantastic view, in about 20 minutes, and to Cragsmoor library and the beautiful Stone Church. We also hiked in Minnewaska state park, to the waterfall, to Lake Awosting and at Sam's point. Easy to book and the house was open and clean when we arrived, and Kathleen was helpful with information about the area. Definitely would recommend this place!"

  • Most peaceful place on Earth!

"Our stay was fantastic. The house is straight out of Architectural Digest, and the setting amongst the woods right on a small lake was fantastic. The house is extremely well equipped with everything - kitchen supplies, plenty of games for kids and adults, wifi, kayaks and a canoe. The local area is also a joy to explore. The house was in immaculate condition, and Camille made the process of renting a pleasure. I defy anyone to find a better place to stay within an hour of NYC!"

  • Great getaway for a little one

"We were looking for a place to take our 2 year old son out of the city and the farm was perfect! The cabin is adorable, much nicer than the photos, everyone we met were lovely and helpful and their really were chickens, rabbits, baby goats, and other animals right outside. We did not have much contact with the owners, email was never answered, the pizza was only offered on Saturdays and the breakfast was $15 a person so we did not do it. When we did meet them though, they were gracious and even found toys for our little one. With nearby hiking, berry picking, petting farms, swimming holes etc and only two hours from New York, I recommend it highly."

  • Another great week at this wonderful property

"This is our second summer vacation at this property. We enjoyed the serene setting, the beautiful pool, and the excellent condition of the house. The owners are responsive, professional, and easy to work with. Overall, we had a great time and will likely return again."
