"We had 3 couples traveling to New Paltz to participate in an intense endurance race so we needed a place that would be peaceful and relaxing, Greg's home was perfect. The dwelling was as described, nestled among many trees on a quiet street, with a huge deck, grill, hot tub and a gorgeous yard that flowed down to the river. We had more than ample room, with a well appointed kitchen and lots of prep area. It allowed us to cook our meals and relax instead of driving all over. The house is well lived in with much character, it is not a sterile hotel environment. Linens were clean, beds comfortable. There is Wifi, and a Roku box and cable tv. Our host, Greg, was very attentive and easy to communicate with. We enjoyed our stay, it was the perfect location for this trip."

"Our stay in Avalon Cottage was truly delightful. It is a charming home and so comfortable. The Cottage is ideally located for day trips to explore areas of the Hudson River Valley and Western Massachusetts and so welcoming to us on our return "home". We enjoyed the quiet and relaxed atmosphere, especially time on the back deck relaxing, reading and watching the wildlife. Our vacation was truly wonderful thanks in large part to feeling so at home in Avalon Cottage."

"My friends and I stayed at the house while attending a wedding in the area. The owner was very friendly, flexible, and helpful. The decor is bold, quirky, and just right. The planter/sculpture in the living room was a big hit, as were the smattering of stuffed animals. There were plenty of kitchen wares, board games, and towels. I loved the fire and seating area by the water and the round booth in the kitchen. There is a screened outdoor dining room, but there were no mosquitoes, so we lounged and dined on the patio. We got out on the water with the float and canoe--what could be better? There are other houses around the pond, but the house feels private, and everyone is there for more or less the same reason. There is plenty of easy parking, and the supermarket isn't too far. The few downsides: The one fold-out bed could stand replacement with a "real" bed. Some sinks and showers had low water pressure. The electric stove could be a drawback for the picky chef. It's a special spot, a world of relaxation. Highly recommended."

"My husband, two kids and I have stayed at Cottage now for three summers, for a week to 10 days in late August. These have been some of the most magical days of our life! We hang out on the porch looking over the massive, expansive grass lawn, breathing in the oxygen and serenity... all you can see is grass and trees, and in the distance, the red hen house, with beautiful funny chickens running around in the mornings. After breakfast, we head down to the lake, a couple minutes walk, and swim on-and-off all day, using the canoes and paddle boats. The lake is gorgeous and clean, surrounded by lovely trees, and features little fish and turtles that sun themselves on logs. Peg and her husband keep the grounds so well groomed that you get the feel of being on an old classic estate with rolling hills and landscaping to admire. It's relaxing and lovely. Peg and her husband are great hosts while giving you all the privacy you need to feel you are in your own secluded space. Peg rides around in the mornings on her golf cart with eggs from the hen house, and she's been really generous to let our daughter, who is 8, ride around with her and help collect the eggs. I can't recommend Cottage more. The furnishings are modest, the beds are very comfortable with nice linens, and the little brick and wood house is all set up for grilling and time spent reflecting on the porch. There's also a screened-in room in back that the kids love to play in. (Our other child has been an infant to 2 year old when we've visited). I hope we can visit every year.
We visited once in autumn and it was just as gorgeous, refreshing and intoxicating as it is in summer."
