  • Amazing country getaway!

"For my 30th birthday, I rented out this beautiful country house for a large group of my friends. The pool and cabana were the perfect place to spend the day. The rooms and kitchen were fabulous, a wonderful place to stay and get away from the big city. The house has alot of amenities and is perfect for groups or families. I definitely planning on staying here again!"

  • Fantastic Accommodations

"A stunning home and view, minutes from the village of New Paltz. Bedrooms and baths top notch, the kitchen, living room, dining room and tv nook designed with every comfort imaginable, all spotlessly clean and warm for our arrival. Started our long weekend with a stop at the Cheese Plate in the Water Street Market, grabbed some surprisingly good produce at the Stop & Shop, and spent most of the weekend in front of the double fireplace, watching the sun rise from the rear terrace, and set over the gunk cliffs from the front terrace. Excellent sound system, plenty of table space and seating inside and out. Ventured to the Tuthilltown Distillery for a tour and delicious dinner (10 minutes away in Gardiner), and also to the Mountain Brauhaus ( 5 min. away), but enjoyed cooking and eating all our other meals at the house. Gina and Brian provided excellent customer service, quick response to all inquiries. Would highly recommend this property for intimate or large gatherings, and am looking forward to our next visit!"

  • Plesantly Surprised

"This was our second rental for the summer, and I opted for something I though was affordable, yet maybe without all the amenities I usually look for. When we arrived, I was honestly not so excited that other houses were clearly in view and close by. Actually, there are true moments of seclusion, solitude and peace in this home on Kinderhook Lake. During the week there were hardly any boats on the water, and renting the kayaks was great because there are small nooks of undeveloped areas on the lake. I even saw beaver (well, I am a city girl so maybe it was something else). I loved the enclosed deck and used it as my "gym" and we were quite comfortable in the indoor space provided. There are great hikes nearby in the Berkshires, but even sitting on the dock and soaking in the view was amazing. Just what I needed to unwind. It is a simple home, but has everything you need for a wonderful retreat. Also, the owners were more than accomodating and gave us some great tips for the area. I have been renting summer homes for like 10 years now, and I have never thought of going back. I think we will!!! Thanks Maura and Rick!"

  • Exquisite Everything

"Sterrett and her West Wing are unique gems. The land on which she and her husband built their house opens over an undisturbed distant view of the Mohonk Mountain House of the Shanwangunk Ridge. Not another house in sight. Just as pictured. Add the rustling of leaves in the wind, and birds busy in their own uninterrupted world. The architecture and furnishings of the West Wing are comprised of equally simple elements to spectacular effect. An over-sized Moroccan lantern enchants the dark night with luminous, colorful patterns. Bold color choices for the walls brings the dwelling the life and offset arresting paintings, some of which are Sterrett's own work. Clearly, I'm reaching for my highest praise! We loved our time at the Garrett, including conversations with Sterrett that excited us about exploring our own interests in the Catskills. We cancelled agenda items for a few days just to try on the feeling of actually living in such a dwelling! We left feeling relaxed and infused with new life."
