Great house in the middle of nothing (or between Hunter and Windham mountain)
"Surrounded, the excellent equipped house is a great place to stay for some days in the Catskill Mountains. We were a group of six German and Canadian journalists and photographers, who stayed there for the mountain bike world cup at Windham - and all of us founf enough space (three large bedrooms with queensize beds (two of them with own bath room), and room with four beds (two bunk beds) which fits each also for tall adults. The living room with the kitchen is really large, internet is fast. The really only disapointment was the not existsing cell phone connection."

"I have to agree with the previous reviews - the place is spectacular - better than the pictures. Four friends get together every year and we have rented houses all over - and all agree, this is the best yet - probably never to be surpassed. The home is so well stocked - you think of it - it's there. All furnishings are beautiful but relaxing - nothing felt like you couldn't use it. Elizabeth is a wonderful host, greeting us to show us around her beautiful home and always available if the need arises. The pool is a huge bonus - after a day of sightseeing to come back and relax and watch the river and sunsets. The location is convenient to Hyde Park for the Culinary Institute - recommend taking the tour, and the Vanderbilt and Roosevelt Mansions - and to Rhinebeck with all it's great restaurants. I'm looking forward to getting back to the Hudson River Valley."

"This house is absolutely adorable on the outside and nice on the inside. Things are a bit run down but that didn't really bother us. I would rather stay in a house like that than in a house that looked like a museum where I had to watch every step.
The pool is very nice but also very shaded so even with the heater, it would not heat up unless the heat was on constantly. It could also use some reclining lounge chairs as it is a perfect spot to curl up with a good book and enjoying the beautiful surroundings.
Beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room for the 7 of us including dogs - beware that small dogs can fit through the fence by the pool though.
The stove never evenly cooked our food but this is pretty typical of an electric stove. You just have to keep an eye on it. There were plenty of towels and pillows.
Overall, a nice house in an area with plenty to do."

"We had an incredible weekend at the Cottage. Small and cozy, but perfectly clean with every comfort you could want, from powerful AC to comfy beds to a well-equipped kitchen. The cottage is set on the end of a huge field, giving you total privacy and a perfect place to run around during the day or sit around the campfire (wood and a firepit are provided) and stargaze at night. You also have access to all the activities on the massive estate, especially the beautiful little lake just two minutes walk down the gravel path, that is perfect for swimming, fishing and boating (floats, row boats, etc. are all included.) Peg is a wonderful and friendly host, you couldn't ask for better. Highly recommended! We can't wait to go back!"
