  • Awesome weekend in a Beautiful Home

"A group of us (12 total) stayed in this cozy yet enormous home for the weekend and had a wonderful time. The interior of the house is much larger than the photos represent. Even for 12 people, the house provided ample space with three different living rooms and seven bedrooms. In addition, the view from the back porch was incredible. The property was very clean and all possible amenities were provided. We thoroughly enjoyed the weekend and have many new memories. I would recommend this house to any group of individuals looking for a place to relax in the Hudson Valley area. We look forward to coming back."

  • Perfect Camp-like Home

"We have stayed used VRBO for years both as travelers and owners. For the size and location it is hard to beat the comfort and price. Yes you will have to bring everything you need which only requires a trip to Shop-n-Save a few miles away on the way to Rhinebeck. The pool and spa were well maintained and awesome. The woodstove was wonderful. If you go there looking for a camp like retreat with a few rough edges you will be very pleased with your choice. It is secluded in the woods offering a sanctuary like privacy. We attended a 4 day event at Omega Institute (an easy 30 min drive). This Splendid Country Retreat was a perfect complement. We were 4 adult couples from all over the country. There is no question that we will be back again next year if at all possible. Scott -n- Lu"

  • Fantastic Accommodations

"A stunning home and view, minutes from the village of New Paltz. Bedrooms and baths top notch, the kitchen, living room, dining room and tv nook designed with every comfort imaginable, all spotlessly clean and warm for our arrival. Started our long weekend with a stop at the Cheese Plate in the Water Street Market, grabbed some surprisingly good produce at the Stop & Shop, and spent most of the weekend in front of the double fireplace, watching the sun rise from the rear terrace, and set over the gunk cliffs from the front terrace. Excellent sound system, plenty of table space and seating inside and out. Ventured to the Tuthilltown Distillery for a tour and delicious dinner (10 minutes away in Gardiner), and also to the Mountain Brauhaus ( 5 min. away), but enjoyed cooking and eating all our other meals at the house. Gina and Brian provided excellent customer service, quick response to all inquiries. Would highly recommend this property for intimate or large gatherings, and am looking forward to our next visit!"

  • The Perfect Respite'!

"We rented The Cottage for the entire month of May while my husband was in the area for work. As a free-lance writer, I couldn't have been more pleased with the setting! Tucked at the back of the estate, it was as though I had the entire 100 acre historic estate to myself! My days consisted of writing, hiking and returning to The Cottage to enjoy the cozy warmth of the wood stove. Despite it's "away-from-it-all" feel, the property truly is centrally located with all the area's major attractions within easy driving distance. The village of Fishkill has some great restaurants - you won't want to miss The Tomato Cafe', the Maya Cafe' and Cantina, or the I-84 Diner! The Culinary Institute of America NY is also close by - I went for lunch whenever I could, sampling each of their restaurants. History buffs are in for a treat as there are many historic sites nearby. We already have plans to return to the area when my husband doesn't have to work so we can both enjoy all The Cottage, Willow Lake Farms and Dutchess County have to offer!"
