"We love everything about this place, including the proprietors, their helpers, our apt. ("the tack room"), the land, and the animals. Wonderful, wonderful! Our second visit. The first was this past August. Thanks.

"'We' heard about an exhibit in Copake Falls about camps 'in the area' from the 1920's, and on. One thing led to another and 'We' decided that this was the time for a camp reunion. I immediately Gooogled 'Houses in Copake', and lo and behold, this beautiful house, right on, what we knew as Lake Rhoda (now Upper Rhoda Pond) appeared before me. This was almost unbelievable as most of us had not been back to West Copake for a good 50 years. So, after much arranging, 7 of us made our way, as far as Nashville and Colorado to our beloved lake. The house welcomed us with open arms, and the lake, as if we had never left. We almost immediately took out one of the canoes and made our way around the lake. We ate outside on the deck with a well stocked kitchen to make us feel right at home. We chose our BR's easily, as there were 2 sets of Sisters who shared a bed. The next day, we had about 20 people at the house for lunch, and between the outdoor spaces to sit, the welcoming size of the house, nothing ever felt crowded. The BR's were lovely, clean and cozy. Saturday night 3 more people stayed over and they too, were just as comfortable in the Gurst House. We did not get a chance to go swimming, although the lake was warm, we simply were not there long enough. The whole process of renting the house was easy, due to the professionalism of the rental agent/property manager. I do believe that each of us would go back in a heartbeat, and HAPILY stay for more than a weekend."

"We stayed here with our 2-year-old daughter and, while other reviewers have commented on how beautifully decorated, peaceful and well-situated the house is (all very true), it also has some nice features for families. The bedrooms are set far enough away from the great room that grownups can stay up and watch a movie after the kids go to bed. And the master bath means you won't wake up your kids by sneaking to the bathroom in the middle of the night! All important considerations! Plus a good supply of children's books, toys and games. Overall, a wonderful experience and we would love to come back."

"Our group of 10 had a wonderful time at the Barn over the 4th of July weekend. The owners & staff are very organized and professional, which made booking and planning easy. Upon checkin, we had complete privacy for the weekend. The property is beautiful with an amazing kitchen, sprawling common areas, and a gigantic yard. We hired their recommended masseuse & private chef for one of the days. Both were great, don't overlook hiring Chef Jodi! It was great having dinner taken care of for an evening."
