"This property has it all. The amenities were modern and perfect. The views were beautiful. Every little detail was well maintained. The bread, milk, eggs, fresh jam and butter in the fridge were over the top and a wonderful treat. The property is conveniently located to downtown. I would recommend this place to anyone and we will be definitely be going back!"

"'We' heard about an exhibit in Copake Falls about camps 'in the area' from the 1920's, and on. One thing led to another and 'We' decided that this was the time for a camp reunion. I immediately Gooogled 'Houses in Copake', and lo and behold, this beautiful house, right on, what we knew as Lake Rhoda (now Upper Rhoda Pond) appeared before me. This was almost unbelievable as most of us had not been back to West Copake for a good 50 years. So, after much arranging, 7 of us made our way, as far as Nashville and Colorado to our beloved lake. The house welcomed us with open arms, and the lake, as if we had never left. We almost immediately took out one of the canoes and made our way around the lake. We ate outside on the deck with a well stocked kitchen to make us feel right at home. We chose our BR's easily, as there were 2 sets of Sisters who shared a bed. The next day, we had about 20 people at the house for lunch, and between the outdoor spaces to sit, the welcoming size of the house, nothing ever felt crowded. The BR's were lovely, clean and cozy. Saturday night 3 more people stayed over and they too, were just as comfortable in the Gurst House. We did not get a chance to go swimming, although the lake was warm, we simply were not there long enough. The whole process of renting the house was easy, due to the professionalism of the rental agent/property manager. I do believe that each of us would go back in a heartbeat, and HAPILY stay for more than a weekend."

"THAT RED HOUSE IS AMAZING, FROM THE MINUTE YOU WALK IN THE BACK DOOR. THE VIEW IS BREATHTAKING. THE HOUSE IS NICELY DECORATED AND LAYED OUT AND IS AS COMFORTABLE AS YOUR OWN HOME. THE KITCHEN IS BEYOND WORDS. EVERY SINGLE KITCHEN GADGET, TOOL, PAN, BOWL, IS AT YOUR FINGERTIPS. ITS VERY PEACEFUL AND TRULY HEAVEN ON EARTH. THE LAKE IS BEAUTIFUL AND PEACEFUL. THE KAYAKS WERE GREAT AND SO WAS THE FIRE AREA WHERE WE ROASTED SMORES TIME AND TIME AGAIN. WE CANNOT WAIT TO RETURN TO THIS AMAZING HOUSE. MARTA, THE OWNER, IS WONDERFUL, RESPONSIVE, AND VERY HELPFUL. THANKS FOR THE SMORES KIT, IT WAS A REAL HIT. - SMALL TIP WE HAD OUR CHEVY TAHOE AND THE ROAD IN AND DRIVEWAY WERE A BIT STEEP AND BUMPY, ALTHO IS IS PROBABLY DOABLE WITH A SEDAN, WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND AN SUV OF SOME SORT."

"i came here on two or three occasions after 2010. In the past couple of years I've been more in Central America which of course is itself a wonderful experience. But this little house - and not so little, we were sometimes sleeping 5! - had a world embracing quality so while you were surely surrounded by the natural pleasures of the Catskills, definitely one of the loveliest bits of country in the whole US, but you felt yourself ensconced in something classical, where a great writer might have written his greatest work, or a weary historian might have revivified her confidence in Mankind and the efficacy of action. Clean, uncluttered, but characteristic - you feel there have been characters here, who left that book behind or found that portrait and hung it, as thanks, on the wall. The owners are charming, helpful, but altogether unobtrusive - they have their own plans for the weekend, thank you. I can't wait to find the weekend that will bring me back here!"
