"My family and I recently stayed at this wonderful house for 10 days. We have two young kids (ages 3 and 18 months) who, having lived in Manhattan their whole young lives, had a blast running around carefree, enjoying nature and their new found freedom. The kids particularly enjoyed the jungle gym, the huge backyard and front lawn, and the movie room. They would spend hours outside playing tag, blowing bubbles, and kicking balls around. They rarely wanted to leave, except to go to Greig's Farm down the road where they got a kick out of picking blackberries and seeing goats. We also had friends and family visit at various times and there was plenty of room for everyone, especially on the gorgeous deck where we grilled and had lovely dinners. Although my kids weren't interested in it, the pool and hot tub were big hits for our visitors. It's shallow enough to stand up in it as an adult. The owners were also very responsive throughout the entire process. For instance, there was an issue with the sliding glass door to the deck and the owner fixed it within a few hours of being notified. The only thing I wished the house had was a screen for the front door so we could have kept the front door open to get a nice breeze without any bugs coming in. Very minor preference though. And a couple of visitors who stayed overnight in the downstairs bedroom mentioned that it was on the warm side. So it might be nice to have an A/C unit or other better ventilation down there in the future. It wasn't an issue for us at all since we stayed upstairs (and that's where most of the bedrooms are anyway). Overall, we had a terrific stay and recommend this house wholeheartedly. Thank you, Kristen and Steve! Your home is lovely and just what we needed. Hope to be back!"

"I have actually stayed at this property twice , Both times my Family rented the entire place for Christmas (2012 & 2013, calendar would not allow those options).
Our host Michel (hope I spelled that correctly) was excellent, there when you need him & privacy when you don't.
The property is beautifully restored with large working fireplaces , antiques, and beautiful features throughout. Both times we had it decorated for the holiday, it was excellently done & made the whole experience so cosy and picturesque I felt like I was in a different time!
Although we didn't get to use the pool, it looks amazing as do the grounds, so I do hope to make it back in another season,
I would highly recommend this property for an amazing stay, I plan to stay again whenever possible,

"We can't say enough wonderful things about this property. The house is super cozy with an effortless blend of country kitsch and subtle elegance. Our favorite room was the screened porch, which is perfect for after dinner drinks or games, and the oversized chef's kitchen is another highlight. The grounds are huge, with a big raised dock (we had dinner out there and it was magical), diving board, canoe, wooden raft, swing, vegetable garden (we harvested fresh kale and basil for a homemade pesto and sampled fresh cherry tomatoes, cucumbers and sugar snap peas) and firepit. The master bedroom and downstairs are room are both extremely spacious, while the other two rooms (with an adjoining bathroom) are cozier, but still lovely. We had a few questions about the place when we arrived and the owner could not be nicer or more prompt. Red Hook and Rhinebeck are a short drive away, and there is a lovely farmer's market on Fridays in Milan. Some of our favorite spots were The Burrito Stand, Bread Alone and Hudson Valley Distillers. We can't wait to come back!"
