  • Refreshing Vacation With Beautiful Setting

"If you are looking for a vacation where you will return home rested and refreshed, then you have come to the right place. You won't be dissapointed by choosing this beautiful setting in one of New York state's prettiest areas. An attractive, spotless home, right on the lake's waterfront. We visted from 2500 miles away in Vancouver, BC, and would defintely come again. The photos and description of the home and surroundings are accurate. The owner is as pleasant and helpful as you will find anywhere. Some of the things we enjoyed: Morning coffee outside on lake's edge; kayaking; walking; visitng by the fireplace; sightseeing and shopping in Albany; touring quaint villages in rural settings; local markets and stores; eating out in Hudson."

  • Third Time Is A Charm

"Well we returned and the stay was just as it was the last two visits. The only downside was that Hilary was not home but that didn't change our stay. We missed Hilary but she had the place still as beautiful, clean and nice as if she were there. I laugh because I love this home but I also fear writing such great reviews. When I want to return it will probably be booked. This was our first trip in the spring and the weather was great. The views of the Hudson were amazing to see every morning. The apartment has everything. The kitchen is well stocked and we used the electric grill every night. The place is as clean as the pictures show and there are no trick shots-what you see is what you get. We have stayed on vacations at different hotels all over but it is just that-a hotel. This home is a friends home allowing you all the privacy or interaction you want with the owner. The fireplace, screened in room off the bedroom, chairs and hammock on the porch just made our short stay so much more enjoyable. It is so much fun to go away and do nothing or do a lot of running around and knowing when it is time to go back to your place to sleep it is not the end of your fun for the day. Hilary has made this apartment such a peaceful and tranquil place to rest your head. I travel to different places a few times a year and this place is one place that is always on the calendar. Funny as I think about this last trip I have been here in 2012, 2013 and now in 2014. I plan on another trip in 2014 and more in years to come. I have to say that this home is my favorite place to visit when I just want to get away. Besides the home, there is a Super Stop and Shop within 10 minutes and the town to shop in quaint stores. After leaving the house on my way back to "reality" I always say see you soon to the apartment rather than this was a nice trip. Hilary has a sign in guest book and if you get to stay there just read our comments in October 2012, July 2013 and April 2014. Thank you again Hilary. Tom, Jacki and Desi"

  • SuperBowl Weekend....

"The rental manager was wonderful to work with, very prompt to answer any questions we had in advance to our stay. He left us a bottle of wine as a "welcome" gift! The house is very spacious so 5 adults were able to spread out. The living room is the real shining star of the house (including a wet bar with extra convenient for those Super Bowl beverages!)."

  • For a serene and beautiful escape from the City!

"Came here for a few days to enjoy the quiet surroundings and beauty of the surrounding area and was not disappointed. The house is lovely and well-equipped for comfort and cooking your own meals. Cute kitchen and comfy family room with skylights and lots of windows that allow you to enjoy the wooded view. Not far from Kent, CT and other small hamlets in NY state. Check out the nearby farmer's markets in summer! I rode my bicycle easily into Kent for breakfast one morning - lovely ride. Great perks: dog friendly if approved by owner; fireplace that owner allows you to use (as of this writing); baby grand piano (I enjoyed practicing while there); ample patio with well-maintained grill and wood stove for cool evenings outside. I must add that the owner is lovely and accommodating, with a warm sense of humor. She holds your comfort and satisfaction in high regard."
