  • Absolutely Perfect!

"My husband and I were lucky enough to be able to sneak away for a few days for our 11th anniversary and this truly was our "Haven on the Hudson". Everything in the description is accurate and Chad was just truly wonderful!! He was always available to answer my questions and it was so nice to meet him the day we arrived. He even left us a nice surprise in the fridge for our anniversary! The house is just gorgeous and any view out of the MANY windows is breathtaking! The house is well stocked from the kitchen to the bedrooms and you need not bring anything except clothes and food. We spent the days fishing from the row boat or the dock, napping (It’s so peaceful I took 3 naps in one day) and when I didn’t feel like going fishing, I just curled up in the recliner with my Kindle in front of that gorgeous view. We were married in the town of Saugerties so we spent an afternoon visiting the church and Seamans park (which is beautiful in the fall with all of the mums) and having dinner at Emiliano’s restaurant (which is where we had our rehearsal dinner and the food was still great). We woke up early one morning to weird sounds and jumped up to see what it could be and it was a group of turkeys wandering around outside. I liked not knowing what I may see or run into. Don’t hesitate…..just book your dream house!! MANY, MANY thanks Chad for making this happen for us!!!"

  • Wonderful Cottage home

"Perfect cottage home. Beautiful big kitchen with views of the creek you can not beat. Minutes from Woodstock and stores yet still secluded and private. Very convenient. Would certainly stay again"

  • Perfect Anniversary Celebration!

"Just perfect for my husband and I to celebrate a quiet weekend alone! The house was clean and inviting! Very impressed by it being so well stocked. We bought charcoal and wood and found it there in the shed already, so we used that and were happy to leave ours behind for the next guests. We spent the first day grilling on the outside deck and later roasted s'mores in the fire pit! We drove into Saugerites and Woodstock which was a very short drive to both! The next day we spent at the Hudson Valley Wine and Food festival. We hurried home in the evening to catch the sunset on the back deck, and then we proceeded to end the night with appetizers and cocktails at the Lazy Swan right down the street. Drinking coffee on the deck and watching the horses next door was priceless in the way of peace and quiet. Bed was comfortable and we're early birds so we could appreciate the wake up call from the rooster next door! The owners were helpful and I would recommend this property and have already! Not to mention my husband and I will most definitely be returning."

Saugerties Travel Tips

Saugerties Vacation Rentals: The Historical Experience

Saugerties is not the common destination. Since its creation in 1677 (where the land was bartered for cloth from Chief Esopus of the Amorgarickakan Tribe), it has developed into a gathering of charming architecture, sand-shaded views, and forest paths. Its origins are evident on every street, marking it a cultural significance for New York. For some, this may seem more lesson than pleasure, but families desiring peace will relish every second. Saugerties vacation rentals allow those seconds to be spent comfortably.

Saugerties Resorts: Past Meets Present

Travel quaint streets, flanked by colonial styles and shadows from the Catskill Mountains. Indulge in quiet shops and river coasts. Saugerties Resorts nestle you within history. After leaving modern comforts (like bedrooms for your entire family, accommodations for your pets, efficient kitchens and more), step happily into the past. The Saugerties Lighthouse will intrigue with its museum and panoramic views. The Nature Preserve offers 156 acres of protected watersheds and shorelines, ideal for educating children and adultson the wild. The Orpheum Theater hearkens back to vaudeville-style shows and Depression-era entertainment. And the Kiersted House Historical Society holds special interest with its concerts and exhibits. Look also to the many antique stores and local artisans for celebrations of days gone by.

Hudson Valley Cabins: Simply Convenient

There is one promise you've made concerning this trip: there shall be no more hotels. You want to experience Saugerties without the hassles you've come to know and hate. This is a languidly paced town; you wish to greet it properly. Hudson Valley cabins let you. Reward yourself with budget-conscious lodgingsettled along the Esopus Creek. Don't force yourself to the trappings of meager corners. With Saugerties vacation rentals, you can focus on what is truly important: your family. Spare yourself the tedium and enjoy the past instead.
